8. 2. Exodus 30:22-25
22 Then the LORD said to Moses,
23 “Take the following fine spices: 500
shekels[a] of liquid myrrh, half as much (that
is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250
shekels[b] of fragrant calamus,
24 500 shekels of cassia—all according to the

about 1
gallon
• We see here, God himself, owns his
own blend!
• Is that not incredible!
9. God himself decided to use these oils for
communication with his people. He said this is my
fragrance.
It’s neat that when the people come to the temple
they were automatically recognizing him. God forbid
his mixture to be used for personal use.
Which will be discussed in a later class.
In the old testament we will look at 2
Proverbs 21:20
10. Hezekiah had just
recovered from sickness
Babylonians were

• 2 Kings 20:13 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his
dominion.
11. Question
# 4Jesus in this passage is actually
being honored. Just like when the 3
wise men brought him gifts.
This shows Jesus’s power and
authority.
Scholars say that it was Myrrh
being used and it would have been
one years wages.
Oils were also used as an act of
hospitality when people came to
visit from a long travel. – but only
with less expensive oils
Of course, this can be discussed at a
future scheduled class.
Mark 14:3-9 Young's Literal Translation
3 And he, being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, at his
reclining (at meat), there came a woman having an alabaster box of
ointment, of spikenard, very precious, and having broken the alabaster
box, did pour on his head;
4 and there were certain much displeased within themselves, and saying,
`For what hath this waste of the ointment been made?
5 for this could have been sold for more than three hundred denaries, and
given to the poor;' and they were murmuring at her.
6 And Jesus said, `Let her alone; why are ye giving her trouble? a good
work she wrought on me;
7 for the poor always ye have with you, and whenever ye may will ye
are able to do them good, but me ye have not always;
8 what she could she did, she anticipated to anoint my body for the
embalming.
9 Verily I say to you, wherever this good news may be proclaimed in the
whole world, what also this woman did shall be spoken of -- for a
memorial of her
12. Our current medical
field is very
atheistic.
In school doctors are
taught about God’s
word.
Since, modern
medicine is manmade
they several have
dangerous side effects
and dependency
issues.
No one has ever died
using oils topically.
Ask a partner to:
Name 3 benefits you
want to see from using
God’s medicine?
