Hedge fund managers are having their offices and homes swept for listening devices due to a surge in insider trading probes involving covert audio recordings. Security companies have seen a tremendous increase in requests for electronic sweeps from money managers in the last six months. One company said requests from hedge funds have grown 1000% in the last year for services including sweeps and compliance assistance as funds aim to clamp down on information security in the wake of government investigations.
