I. Survey & Analysis
For the survey and analysis the Indiana Cardinals spent a whole day on Friday May 6th, 2016 at
the theme park Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. While there a total of 42 people were surveyed by a
total of three people taking surveys. They were taken by creating a team email and copy and pasting the
survey into there. Every time a survey was taken the survey taker responded to the email as a reply so
that they still had the original survey still intact, so that there was no question human error in typing over
another survey result. The following Monday in class, the surveys were tallied and put into an excel
spreadsheet and the charts which were created on Thursday, May 6th, 2016 were automatically updated
with our information.
Every question on the survey did not equal out to exactly 42 answers necessarily because the first
question on the survey was, “On average how many professional baseball games do you attend a year?”
On that question we had a none option so that people who do not attend professional baseball games who
answered the survey may not be useful information.
That data collected from them is not very useful as
they were just answering because they wanted to
and if they don't attend games then they really don’t
know what they want in a stadium/professional
sports game. The survey results from this question
also show that 33 people out of 42 go to less than 20 games a year which equals out to 78.6% of the
people attend that many games.
Another question on our survey was, “Which of the following types of food would you purchase
from a concession at a baseball game?” On this question there was checkboxes so people could choose
more than one, which meant that there could be more than 42 responses on that question. This question is
4
going to help with choosing what to include in the concession stands placed throughout the stadium. For
example, based on the data from the surveys it is concluded that the main items will be Hot Dogs with 25
votes and Hamburgers, pretzels, and nachos with 20 votes.
The surveys done in Gurnee, IL fit really well with the type of people who would attend a game in
Indianapolis for a few reasons. First, Chicago and Indianapolis weather are closely related except for one
exception. That exception is Chicago is very close to a lake which brings colder weather because of it.
Second, Chicago people are willing to make the trip usually down to Indianapolis as it is only a three hour
drive, which is not that bad.
Please see appendix for the survey and survey analysis

II. City /State Demographic Information
The data and research that was collected in Six Flags in Gurnee, Illinois will help our Indianapolis
Cardinals to be a custom to the city of Indianapolis. So finding and collecting information on the average
age and income on the city will help our team strive for a target market either that is age (which age group
goes to the games) or the attendance (how many people come to our games) or even sponsor
(McDonalds, Rallys, or Hot Box). Our team need to know who is the age factor that we are trying to target
and for the income to see if the city has enough land and money to afford a brand new baseball team or if
the city has enough to pay for the “big time” players, the income is a big one for our soon to be cardinals.
The team name “Cardinals” really do help us to build loyalty with the city because the cardinal is on
the state flag and the first cardinal was found in Indiana in the city of Indianapolis, which mean that
Indianapolis is the home of the cardinals. The first reason why we chose Indianapolis is because it is big in
population do to census data of the city (United) in fact about over 800 thousand people live in
Indianapolis. Second, the income of Indy is well good enough for building a new professional baseball
team. The Indianapolis cardinals are very confident in being successful in Indianapolis because the city is
really well known for being really loyal fans to their home team and willing to go to any game, travel as far
as they want, and in any climate weather. Which brings me to another point that Indianapolis has some of
the best weather in the spring and the summer around the region do to data from rssweather (Climate)
that's why Indianapolis is known for a baseball, because of all the good that goes on in the spring and the
summer and that is great for baseball.
For transportation, buses will play a big part in getting our
fans to our games. So IndyGo bus fare is one of the top bus
companies in Indianapolis and also America has trains that
carry people to our games over 900 miles. So IndyGo and
6
America buses and trains has carried over hundreds of people to games, museum, or even parks, here is
a picture website for visual content.

III. Team Logo/Mascot/Team Name
The Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals
choose their logo very carefully. The logo is
mostly red because that is the primary color
of the team. The contrasting color to that is
white because white and red look good
together. That color was chosen because
when people see red they see toughness and
scares them a little. A fighting bird was also
included because that will help in making sure
the opponent will be a little intimidated.
How the logo and team colors are
chosen influence every decision on designing the stadium, to the uniforms, and how the parking lot
sections are even labeled outside so people can easily remember where their cars are.
The name Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals was selected for a few reasons. First, the state bird of
Indiana is the cardinal, which everyone who lives in Indiana knows what the state bird is. That of which
leads into the second reason why we choose the name Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals. The color red just
makes sense to choose because the main color on the bird is red. That influenced the decision to choose
our secondary color white. White was chosen because it complements the red very well.
As a mascot, the lucky chosen one was a bird like a cardinal. Even though a buff one could not be
found, one close to the one like our logo was found. This was chosen for a variety of reasons. First, a
mascot should match the team logo so that is why that was chosen. Second, it had to be red so one was
chosen that was red and with feathers. Finally, it was chosen because the fans love to interact with it.

IV. Merchandising
Merchandising, our team cardinals decide that they should sell the usually t- shirts, hats (caps and
snapbacks), and glass cups and plastic cups. For the t- shirts, our team decided that they should be a
mixture; like little bit of a baseball look, but a regular t- shirt look. Front of the shirt would have the team
logo, with a text wrap, top and bottom saying “Fighting
Cardinals”, with the team colors red, white, and little
black. And this would go for all items, including glass
cups, and plastic cups. Our t-shirts price would be $25
for sell at our concession stand and at our gift shop. Our
promotion is to try to promote on our players at their
press conference and try to promote on our megaton
with a timeout announcement, talking about our t-shirts.
For our hats, team Cardinal decides to sell caps and snapbacks, with the price of $15. The team will
promote at our concession stand, and gift shop with a timeout announcement. Glass and plastic cup will
also be sold at the concession stand and the gift shop with the price of $20 with a timeout announcement.
These products will all be sold at the concession stand and gift shop mainly, but outdoors. With nearby
stores would sponsor us for our hats or t-shirts. One of our athletes can play a big part into helping us sell
our main items, t-shirts, and hats by they would where the products at their press conference or even if the
big time athletes on our team would were one of our products in one of their commercials. For these to
happen, soon or later people would start to take notice in our products that our team starting to sell. So for
the cups, our team Cardinal decides that the team logo with the team color would be on the cups. The
team decides that plastic and glass (cups and mugs) would be only sale at the gift shop, because lot of
accidents can happen, like the class, if it fall it might break and we would lose profit.

V. Sponsorship
The two major companies that team cardinal decide to sponsor us is Big Lug canteen (brewery)
and PERQ information technology. Big Lug canteen will be our biggest sponsor because beer is big in
sports events, especially baseball. Around Indianapolis, Big Lug is one of the top beer companies in
Indianapolis and its average sales are around $25,000 a month. Big Lug would name after our stadium
(Big Lug field) because at our games we would sale Big Lug beer at
the games, make announcement about Big Lug canteen, and let Big
Lug to open and a restaurant in Big Lug field. Also Big Lug would be
sponsor on the scoreboards at the home games, and then when the
team travels it would be sponsor on the team buses as well. With
these benefits Big Lug would be a lot known in Indianapolis and
around the United States.
PERQ is an information technology company that is much known around Indianapolis. PERQ will
help us with our technology maintenances, so working on our scoreboard making sure the board can show
innings we are currently in and the score etc. PERQ is one of the top technology companies, average
customers is about 15-20 a day.
PERQ is only going to be sponsor on scoreboard and on the name of the stadium. PERQ will also
help us with the retractable for the field, so when it start rain the game don't have to be delayed, when can
just retract a roof. PERQ will be sponsor on the scoreboard and on the stadium name and also when the
team travel we will would put the company name on the bus.
For PERQ to be sponsor by the fighting Cardinal would put them into one of the top technology
companies in not only Indianapolis, but around
United States also. For Big Lug and PERQ these
12
companies will be known around Indy and the United States, the companies will help us get custom to our
home city, but also help the companies get more notice in Indianapolis and around the United States.
13
VI. Tickets/Schedule
The Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals has now released their 2015-2016 schedules. Our opened
day will be a night game on April 2nd. The price of the opened day tickets for upper deck seats will be
around $30, for mid deck seats will be around $60, and baseline seats will be $90. But for down field seats
(home run seats) will be $110 for each person, but that is only on opened day.
For regular home games, it will depend on the team we play, or the players that is playing. For regular
home games the price will $28,$58,$88,$100, but for big time games like for example(rival, top teams, or
superstars) would be around $31,$62,$93,$113. Sometimes at our home games we will make special
offers(family packs, free food) to get the fans more attracted to the tickets and sometimes we can add free
prize like( buy 2 get a souvenir for free).
For Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals, the team has some ideas in pricing. For example, putting special
offers on the tickets,
add free souvenirs to
the ticket prices are a
few ways. Team
Cardinal decides that
they will not offer
refunds on tickets if it
rains, because the
retractable roof will be set out, but if so it is a tornado, Blizzard or any disaster happen then refunds will
occur for the fans that bought tickets.
Our tickets will be presented on the Indy radio station or a commercial, and even be presented on the
sponsor also. Sometimes at our home games we will make special offers (family packs, free food) to get
14
the fans more attracted to the tickets and sometimes we can add free prize like. Team Cardinal decides
that they will not offer refunds on tickets if it rains, because the retractable roof will be set out, but if so it is
a tornado, Blizzard or any disaster happen then refunds will occur for the fans that bought tickets. The logo
will also be on the tickets so people who are buying the tickets will at least be attracted to the look, instead
of the price of the tickets. For the Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals, our 2015-2016 season will be the
successfulness in attendance and global attendance also.
Please see appendix for schedule
15
VII. Stadium
The Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals will start their 2015-2016 season at their brand new field
called Big Lug field. The field is an unique exterior field, which has a retractable roof in case if it rains or if
any climate changes occur we can use the retractable roof. The reason why our team the fighting cardinals
decided to have a retractable roof is because if climate changes occur and also just for a unique look that
the roof will give to the field.
The field is an single-use field, with
3 decker seats, upper deck seats are the
non-comfortable seats (bleacher seats),
midline deck seats are comfortable
seats(luxury), and baseline seats are also
comfortable seat(luxury). The field will also have box seats with luxury seats/chairs/couches, its comfort in
your own home. Big Lug field is a 26 acres, 1.5million square feet parking. The parking will be separated
from public bus parking, main parking, private parking, and team parking. On the parking spot it will be
chauffeurs if you want your car park.
Big Lug field is an single-use field, about 26 acres, next to an interstate. Our public buses will play
a big part in getting our fans to the games. Greyhound buses are one of our team buses, it will be known
as the bus of the Indianapolis Fighting Cardinal and the public bus for the city of Indianapolis. From a
nearby airport to Big Lug field is about 30-45 min.
So what’s inside Big Lug field? Restaurants, we will have Big Lug canteen and Hot Box pizza as our
two main restaurant, then the rest will just be our own( selling hot dogs, pretzel, chicken tenders etc.) and
in those two restaurants will restrooms in them. Restrooms will be around the field, Big Lug field will have
over thirty restrooms around the field. Our stadium will also have 4 ticket offices around the field, with a

little interior box office if the four box offices if filled, but also the first aid station will only be more than 3,
because we are confident in our staff to make sure the fans are safe. The locker rooms will be private,
unless the fans have field passes. The scoreboard we have our sponsor on it, from Big Lug to PERQ, or
even Hot Box pizza will be on it. With Big Lug, Hot Box pizza, and PERQ to pay for half of our stadium, the
other will be pay from the city and the attendance in the stadium. Our team cardinal is very confident in
being a successful organization.
Please see appendix for visual reputations of the stadium
17
VIII. Surprise Me Promotional Pieces!
The Indianapolis Fighting Cardinal is looking to promote these two companies, Coke and Majestic.
Majestic (sportswear) will help our team with the uniforms and t-shirts sportswear. Inside our field we will
start selling majestic sportswear like (t-shirts, hats,
socks, etc.) and it will also be sponsor on our
players as well. Coke will be sold inside the stadium
as the soda drink that will only be sold at the field.
Coke will help sells be up by over 30%, because
coke is the top selling soda company around the
United States and in Indianapolis as well.
These two companies will reflect our team and
city by selling and sponsor the two companies. For
Majestic, our team will give away free shirts to the
first 100 fans to show up on opened day. And coke, our team will sell coke in a cup with our team logo on
it. So the team can get more popular and coke is more popular.
The reason why the team chose these two companies, because
they are popular in the city and around the United States and also
the companies are willing to sponsor our baseball team. The two
companies will be advertise by our city newspaper and make sure
our team will make a timeout announcement.

For Indianapolis Fighting Cardinals, the team has some ideas in pricing. For example, putting special offers on the tickets, add free souvenirs to the ticket prices are a few ways. Team Cardinal decides that they will not offer refunds on tickets if it rains, because the retractable roof will be set out, but if so it is a tornado, Blizzard or any disaster happen then refunds will occur for the fans that bought tickets. Our tickets will be presented on the Indy radio station or a commercial, and even be presented on the sponsor also.
