Editor's Notes

  • #3 Introductory – why we chose a chair? Why it’s beneficial for students? Why students? (2-3 slides)
  • #5 Research – different chairs that are in student coms, with reasons why they are there, questionnaire about current chairs (josh’s question) - (2ish)
  • #6 Ideas – features the chair should have (1)
  • #7 Mock-ups - drawings of chairs, collage of drawings (1)
  • #8 Research 2 – Rebecca’s questionnaire (charted), game chairs (equaled the same price as results) Mercedes (2-3)
  • #9 Posture/chair back layout – (1) Study - the student will have their backs’ straight either with or without the back of the chair to help maintain focus, students feel like they are slouching when having their backs against the chairs. computer/study chairs are useful for this.Gaming - as the student is more relaxed they will have more weight on their back against the chair, being comfortable whilst being about to slouch is useful, bean bags and gaming chairs are useful for this.Socialising - the same as gaming, students will be more relax and more dependant on the chair. Overall we are looking for a chair which will rotate you when you have sat on the chair for a long length of time, it will recognise when you are warm/cold to cool/warm you, arm rests seems to be needed for comfort of the arms, the elbows seem to be loose and heavy when studying.
