A ver y interesting read. It was
interesting reading all the stories
in this ar ticle. Some of the
descriptions about the town were
ver y depressing, and it was also
ver y interesting to read about the
downfall of a small town in
economical crises .

5. Winters bone
“Winter’s Bone” by Daniel Woodrell was a book I enjoyed
about a young girl named Ree that had to go through a very
rough life. Her family leaving her in charge of responsibilities
no young girl should have to take on really made an impact on
the way I viewed my own life. The struggles she went through
and the rough attitude that she had developed gave a real
description of the kind of life that I see everywhere across the
US. This book made a great impression on me and I really
enjoyed reading it.

6. UP IN THE AIR
This book written by Walter Kim about the life of a traveling
salesman was a very interesting book. I did not relate to the
characters at all besides the relationships he had with his family,
but it gave me a glimpse into what kind of life that business and
relationships struggle through. The obsession with trivial things
kind of made me look at some of the things that I am quirky about,
and gave a lot of insight in how I view the world and what it takes at
times to survive in it. I did actually enjoy the movie much more than
the book, where it is always the other way around.

8. Student comments
I really enjoyed reading ever yone’s blogs and
writing. I learned a lot about my own writing
just reading what ever yone else contributed
to their blogs. I got a lot of useful feedback
from ever yone who commented on my blogs.
I thought this was a ver y useful technique in
learning on this online class that I have not
had a chance to read ver y extensively other
students writings. So this par t of the class I
enjoyed ver y much, and gave me a lot of new
ideas that I hope to use in the future.

9. Southwest reading #2
A night with Mark Doty was the name of the
reading I attended at Yavapaii College. This
was the ver y first time I have ever gone to a
poetr y reading. I really enjoyed most of what
Mark Doty read, and when doing the repor t
on him, I had the chance to read more of his
work. I was actually impressed with his
writing, and have never really been a fan of
poetr y before. I do plan to see more poetr y
readings in the future.

10. conclusion
I have learned a lot about myself and the way I write in this class. A
lot of the technical aspects of learning in this class were
challenging, and some of them still are. I got a wide range of
knowledge in this class from computer technologies like blogging,
posting URL’s, and using Blackboard in many new ways. A lot of
times in this class I did not like it at all, but now in the end I am
seeing how a lot of it is going to help me as a student and as a
writer. I have really enjoyed most of the reading however, but some
of it like “Up in the Air” was ver y hard for me to get through for some
reason. I hope that ever yone enjoyed reading each others papers
like I did, and I hope that next semester we might just be in the
same online class, and will be able to apply what we have learned
together in this course. Thank you to ever yone and also Ms. Cline
for her feedback and for introducing me to new things. Goodbye
