Epidemiology
• Pakistan has over three million blinds
• 175,200 per annum with permanent blindness (10-15% children)
• In Pakistan, 480 people develop eye disorders every day
• One in ten people are visually impaired
• About 5% of all blindness in the world is due to childhood blindness in Pakistan (10-15%)
