This presentation discusses the impact of Freemasonry on the founding of the United States through several of the founding fathers who were Freemasons, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, James Monroe, and John Hancock. It suggests that Freemason values like freedom of religion and equality may have influenced the writing of key documents. 5. What is freemasonry
According to Dictonary.com “1. Freemasonry: a Secret or tacit
brotherhood; fellowship; fundamental bond or rapport. 2. The
principal, practices, and institution of freemasons.”
• There is still a lot of mystery about the freemason even in todays
society. It is almost common knowledge some of our countries
biggest leaders are freemasons.

7. What is the direct ties to freemasons in our
country
• There is no way to know for sure if the founding fathers where using
their masons' ties to influence their decisions on how to run the
country or if it had a bearing on how their decisions were made.
However we know who was a mason and their impact on our country
so we will for arguments sake set the precedent that their choices
where coming from that of a freemason choice. So how these men
impacted the country is how freemasons impacted the country.

intolerable acts of 1774
where he then back and
called for independence.

General of the continental
Army. He later became our
first president of the

was born 1/17/1706 in the
Massachusetts bay colony. He was an
avid inventor and mathematician. He
was also one of people that were
responsible for drafting the
constitution and deliration of
independence. Discovering electricity
and inventing things like the rocking
chair.

country.
• George Washington lead the army that would be the first to defeat
the British and ultimately wining their independence. Then he set the
framework for our presidential terms. He was extremely influential to
other presidents to come after him.
• Benjamin Franklin was responsible for many invention and discoveries
that we use today. Glasses, electricity, rocking chair. We also have him
to thank for drafting the declaration and the constitution.

11. James Monroe
was born on 4/28/1758 in
Westmoreland county,
Virginia. He was to attend
college with intentions to
study law. Then the
revolution started and he
and few others raided the
local governors armory and
stole their supplies to give
to the Virginia militia. he
joined the continental
army even serving under

12. John Hancock
John Hancock was born 1/23/1737 in Quincy
Massachusetts. He has reputation of a lavish
lifestyle being the owner of a trading company that
he inherited from his family. He was highly
opposed to the taxation that England was doing at
the time. The stamp act and Townshend duties to
name a few. He quickly joined the side of the
colonist to claim their sovereignty against the
British Government. He was a know freemason
and played a great role in not only the deceration
of independence but in the war agents the British.
He served as the congress's president. It was a
ceremonial title as he was more of a financial
backer to the cause. He was also the first person
to sign the declaration making the phrase “give me

country.
• James Monroe Served as our 5th president and fought in the revolutionary
war for our independence. Among many great things he announced on
12/2/1823 the “Monroe Doctrine.” It stated that the untied states would
be free from any European colonization and any disruption to the
independent countries in the Americas would be seen as an attack on the
United states.
• John Hancock Was a major voice in the start of declaration of
independence as he was a major financier for the effort. That is why he
served as congresses president during the war. He Gave up his seat as
president to George Washington when the formation of the united states
of America.

14. What would our country look like without
freemasons.
• This is one of the hardest questions to answer and it cannot truly be known what
it would be like if the freemasons where not among our founding fathers.
• Somethings that we guess is that we might not have the foundation for freedom
that we have today. As in freemason teaching no man is above any other. No
religion is above any other. So without any freemason influence there might not
have been such clauses written in the constitution and in the declaration as well.
• Also since there was hefty presence of freemasons in the colonial army who is to
say that did not paly a part in their military tactics. If there was no freemasonry
maybe it would have turned out very different. After all we are talking about the
greatest army at the time getting defeated by a bunch of farmers and tradesmen.

15. The Impact
• From what we can tell we have seen an impact on our country by some
very influential masons. They were able use their principals of freedom
within their organization to develop our constriction. Their inventions are
still being used today. The foundation that they laid allow us to create laws
that better our society and protect our rights that were given to us by God.
To be truthful we cannot truly know the exact impact that the freemason
culture played on our country as their society is one of secretes and
knowledge. They have never admitted openly that they were to thank for
any of ways of life. In short in my opinion the freemasons did play a big role
in this country. We would not have the freedoms that we enjoy today with
out their influence in the early years.
