11. The Housing Foundation needs a consistent and dependable
stream of income to secure the financing necessary to design
and renovate the house.
Beta Nu has set a goal of 80 active monthly contributors
donating an average of $32 per month. This level of financing
will generate:
$2,560 dollars per month
$30,720 per year
$153,600 over 5 years
Funds in excess of debt service will be reserved for possible
future purchase of adjoining property.

12. What is the concept?
32 Brothers (members of Spring 1990 and 1995) have already committed to giving $32 a month for
the next five years to the Beta Nu Housing Foundation (BNHF) by way of the Beta Nu Gives Back
(BNGB) on line platform (http://www.betanugivesback.org/donate.html).
These early adopters collective pledge will exceed $12K per year and $60K over 5 years.

13. How will the funds be administered?
Funds will be transferred on a quarterly basis from BN Gives Back to the Beta Nu Alumni Housing
Foundation, Inc. The Foundation will direct funds consistent with the 3 phase plan above.
Quarterly reports related to this campaign will be posted on the BNGB website.
As monthly cash flow grows a percentage of revenue will be Earmarked for scholarship It is
scholarship.
anticipated that the foundation will spend a higher percentage of revenue on charity as the housing
goals are accomplished.

Not immediately. Neither Beta Nu Gives Back nor the Beta Nu Alumni Housing Foundation, Inc. are
501 c(3) organizations. Therefore donations would not be tax deductible as of today. The Beta Nu
Alumni Housing Foundation is securing the services of a law firm to facilitate the document filings
required to receive the 501c(3) status.
The IRS tax exemption is expected by mid year 2012. However your donations given in 2011 may be
deductible based on our success with the IRS Filing. This Process has started.
When the IRS tax exemption is granted Brothers may redirect contributions toward it,
making them tax deductible.

14. Two levels of involvement have been established and will be members recognized during the
80th Anniversary celebration in 2012. However, it should be noted that records of all
contributions will be kept and turned over to the Chapter historian. Any brother who wishes his
contributions to remain anonymous may elect to do so.

Foundation Members: Brothers who are active contributors to the chapter at the $15 to $32
level for 12 months or more will have their name engraved displayed on a plaque in the house
as official members of The Beta Nu Alumni Foundation.
The Chapman Club–– Brothers who contribute at the $32 dollar per month level or more for 12
months or more will have their name engraved and line information displayed on a plaque
outside the house as officials members of the Chapman Club. Chapman Club Members will

receive also receive a commemorative shirt in thanks for their contribution.

15. The Foundation has engaged the services of an architect to begin the

construction drawings for the project, with goal of going to permit by mid
January.

The 501(c)3 process has started. We anticipate making application to the IRS by
the end of the year. Contributions should be tax deductible based on approval of
the application

The Foundation is reorganizing and formalizing new bylaws and mission
statements. It is essential that chapter charity and scholarships flow through the
foundation. This will ensure the viability of the 501(c) 3 status.
The Foundation currently has approximately $6K in cash, $2K of which is
reserved for property taxes.
