PSA magazine
A very brief and concise introduction about Passu Students’
Association (PSA), it was formed in 1987, the year when our
beloved Hazir Imam visited Gojal for the 1st time. The
intention of introducing this association was to work for the
welfare and benefit of student’s community particularly in
Passu.
Being the member of this association, I have come to
know that since its beginning, PSA has had excellent
performance in providing guidance and other facilities to its
members.
Sharing my own experiences, I want to quote that
PSA has played a major role in my academic career. It helped
in boosting up the spirit of hard working in me. Till grade 8th,
I studied in my own village Passu from Pak Tajik Model
School and D/J Middle School Passu. After that I went outside
village for further studies, i did my matriculation and F.Sc
from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza. As my
subject was pre- medical, I decided to continue that subject

2. in any medical institution, therefore got admission in King
Edward Medical University, Lahore. Now am in final year
doing B.Sc (Hons.) in vision sciences (Optometry), related to
EYE.
Role of PSA in my academic career PSA
can be divided into following aspects. ).Firstly, ,arranging
coaching classes during vacations (summer and winter). PSA
students used to teach us during summer & winter vacations.
During that course they used to share their experiences
regarding their studies, the best ways which can aid in
studies. Secondly, by preparing us for admission entry tests
in institutions like AKHSS, Hunza and others. Thirdly, as vision
for future: Personally saying, i was very much inspired from
the students of AKHSS, who used to be the tutors, that’s why
it became my dream to struggle hard for getting admission in
the same institution. Apart from it, by helding career
counseling programs: Mostly the students of PSA come
village during summer time especially in July. The respecting
president of PSA used to arrange career counseling programs
during that time.
As a student, my expectations from PSA are that this
association will work mainly in helping the students in the
field of education. After that, not only in curricular but in
arranging co-curricular activities like sports etc. Although it
arranges sports’ activities for boys, it should also arrange for
girls. I also expect that there be perfect coordination
amongst the members of this association living in different

3. cities, without any biasness. Lastly, as usual I hope it will
arrange presentations on career counseling and other
different social issues. This career counseling programme
should include those representatives who must belong from
different professions like Medical, Engineering, I.T, Social
Sciences, Arts, Business, Accounting etc.
My role in further strengthening PSA can be in the
way that I can have mutual coordination with the leaders of
this association and provide them with the current updates
of admission in medical colleges and universities. I can guide
my junior brothers and sisters regarding their career,
information about choosing their subject after doing
matriculation and FSc.Every field have its own importance.
We cannot insist the students’ in just applying for what his
parents’ are forcing them to. They should choose their career
according to their interest. If they are choosing Medical field,
they first opt for MBBS, if not then they can apply for BDS,
Vision Sciences(Optometry), D. Pharmacy, biotechnology,
biochem etc etc.
I can be a tutor in teaching the students during
coaching classes in my previous school in Passu, as I go there
on vacations.
Another major aspect to be noted is PSA is
playing its role to mobilize the youth in constructive
activities. If we talk about village, yeah this association really
plays major role in the form of boy scouts’ and girl guides’.

4. And by arranging different salgerah programs adding in the
joy of celebrating our religious festivals. They arrange night
show which includes singing, dramas, skits, poetries etc etc
thereby entertaining others and making them happy. If we
consider any specific city, like in Karachi PSA is very active in
arranging different activities there, like Eid programs etc,
may be because Passu students are there in majority, but
when we consider Lahore, here very few students’ are there
from Passu and till now not a single program has been
arranged here. PSA arranges seminar on drug abuse, that is
really very necessary to be held because our youth are
mostly involved in this awful thing.
Few suggestions I would like to give to the leaders of
PSA. Two associations should be made. Firstly, the important
one is that there should be an association between PSA and
the professionals of our village (doctors, engineers,
managers, teachers, etc). The reason is that not only for
fundraising but we really need them for their precious advice
and suggestions as they are much more experienced than us.
They can lead us. Another, Association between PSA and
Passu school teachers, as being in dawn side, we can update
the teachers’ regarding admissions etc which they can tell
the students. Apart from these, PSA should arrange Arts
related activities, interesting like painting etc.
In the next five years, I want to see PSA progressed a
lot in the field of education and quality life. There be full

5. unity amongst the students’ and they all working as a team
for development.
At last but not least, with a message I want to
conclude my article that if we, the members of PSA are
united, we can fly higher and higher and no one can become
hurdle for us in getting success.

used to give certificates of appreciation, and shields to position holders, that were really very
encouraging, & it boosted da spirit of more hard working in students.
