Election Began to Surface

Presidency.

would support anyone that ran against Blatter.
◦ Jack Warner, FIFA Vice President, bribed other
members for votes in the election.

while the investigations were conducted
 Recently, both have been charged with
bribery.

11.  I feel that the crisis could not have been
prevented.
 Although ethical regulations were set for
committee members, it is difficult to monitor
what goes on behind closed doors.
 Many of the accusations that were made
about individual members were false, and
some of them were not supported by enough
evidence to convict.

12.  With the of the nature of this crisis, I feel that Fédération
Internationale de Football Association did a great job
responding to the crisis.
 The organization leaders immediately addressed the issued
and explained to the public through a news release on the
first day. It gave the organization a chance to gain control
before the media. Addressing it so quickly, and the constant
updates and information to the public and media also helped
show the transparency of the organization. I feel that the
transparency is important to build and maintain trust with the
stakeholders around the organization.
 Also, the quick response by FIFA to investigate the allegations
was a smart decision.

13.  Overall, the crisis that FIFA faced was
inevitable. However, the organization took
the necessary steps in a timely manner, and
continues to investigate and update media
and the publics. The media has responded in
a neutral stance, and it seems that FIFA is
working with the media to best represent the
organization.
