ABU DHABI
Lewis took the last win of the season at the day/night
race but it was more like the last day at school
especially with Fernando Alonso being told to put his
foot down in the closing laps, the Spaniard took seconds
out of his lap time but that was by skipping a chicane
out..he picked up three penalties for this (becomes
more important as you read on)
In FF1 it's the first win of the season for Ben Garrigan
and his Loitering Pony on 726 points to take the last
bottle of wine.
In second just 12 points behind Ben it's Julian Meethan
with Forever Smitten on 714 points followed by title
contender Ollie Smith and his Here Comes the Boys on
684 points, but is that enough to take the title....
There's a tie for fourth place between Paul Henshaw's
Granddad Racing and my Mum's team Marlene's
Motors both teams score 674 points, it's rare to see my
Mum this high up so well done Mum x
FINAL SCORES
So after 21 races we have a brand new champion...
I am proud to announce that Ilkeston Fantasy
Formula One 2018 Champion is...Ollie Smith with
his Here Comes The Boys team with a score of 7468
points, congratulations Ollie.
45 points behind the champions in second it's
Lewis Whiting's Whiting's Flyers on 7423 points and
had the same team as Ollie, never underestimate
the power of a good joker people
In third and in the last of the cash prize places it's
Mason Owen with his Mason's Mashers on 7394
points and it was so close for Andrew Lee only 15
points off the top three with Ridgeway Racers on
7379 points, maybe you should think about playing
your jokers Andy ..
In fifth it was Richard Clarkes Go Faster Stripes on
7282 points followed by Julian Meetham's Forever
Smitten on 7226 points.
Seventh place went to the last race winner Ben
Garrigan's Loitering Pony on 7192 points followed
by Richard Warren's Tibbs Choice on 7141 points in
eighth.
In ninth it was Nick Carthew's Proppa Job 1 on
7131 points, I thought this team was going to lift
the title this year but a bad joker ended that.
Completing the top 10 it's FF1 regular Martin
Baldwin with Sauber as a Judge on 7074 points.
With five laps to go Dave Barson's Cheap as Chips
Rides Again was going to take yet another wooden
spoon but then Alonso's track free styling
happened, his three penalties sent Callum Lee's
Crazy Cal's Racers to the bottom of the league with
a score of 4654 points, looks like the spoon is
heading to France....
Bizarrely highest and lowest score for a single race
have gone to the same people as last year with
Pete Lane picking up the highest with 886 points in
Brazil and Satyen Fakey with the lowest with -140
points at the US Grand Prix.

FANTASY FORMULA ONE WOULD LIKE TO THANK

Last but all means not least, all of you , thank you for your quick response when I found out
the email was being blocked (I wondered why we didn't have many teams in) and getting into
the true spirit of FF1, a good laugh
