- 2. Who are we • FDC is an interior design company with strong contracting and industrial capabilities. We design and build interiors for the most famous brands in the world across different industries: Retail, Hospitality, Corporate Offices and F&B, among others. • What sets us apart from our competitors is that we have our own production facilities. From initial designs to finished product, we have control over a project with highly accomplished designers and craftsmen working hand-in-hand, under one project team. • We can design and build custom made furniture to the exact specifications provided by client and consultant, working hand in hand with them to develop prototypes prior to the final product. Our history – our facilities • FDC was created by Elie Assamad in 1979; an extremely talented interior designer with business acumen that allowed him to quickly gain the confidence of international clients. At the time, FDC was built with administrative base in Dubai and facilities in Kuwait. • Elie brought the art of creating luxury boutiques into local high-volume production; all starting in a humble production facility in Kuwait. • In 1999 the existing production facility was built over 10,000 m2 , encompassing now over 300 craftsmen and 85 machines, covering different technologies and production lines. • The production facility is sustained with an experienced project management team, draftsmen and designers. Our history – our facilities • Today, we offer the below technologies at our factory: • Solid wood and veneers production line. • HPL finishing. • Art glass production line. • Treated Metal – Brass – Bronze production line. • Stainless steel custom made profile production and polishing. • Synthetic solid surfaces production. • UV Painting - special effect finishing Painting. • Acoustic walls and ceiling panels. • Water jet – laser cut. • Packaging and logistics. - 5. Our history – our facilities • In 2006, Grand Studio, was initiated in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is headed by an 18 years experienced FDC former head of design. • GS offers designs with eyes on manufacturing, sustainability and reliability thanks to the proximity of most of its members and its director to the production side. • Till now, we rotate our designers and draftsmen among our offices in GCC and Jakarta in order to maintain our competitive advantage. Awards and nominations • HOSPITAL BUILD 2009 - Dubai for the Best Design category. • Awarded for the design and manufacture of ROYALE HAYAT Hospital Kuwait. • It is the first maternity hospital in the GCC that is managed as a 5 stars hotel. The material used, although luxurious, were hygienic and certified to be used in hospitals. • ARCH OF EUROPE FOR QUALITY AND TECHNOLOGY 2009 - Frankfurt. • Awarded for FDC’s achievements in providing high quality service for European luxury boutiques. Awards and nominations • THE INTERNATIONAL STAR FOR LEADERSHIP IN QUALITY 2012 - Paris. • RECEIVED THE GOLD AWARD: 2015 DESIGN AWARDS by the ASSOCIATION FOR RETAIL ENVIRONMENTS, March 24 - Las Vegas. • FDC is recognized for its contribution as a fit out contractor in the DHAMANI 1969 jewelry boutique in Dubai Mall. • The highlight of the boutique is a3D, 13 ft. tall floral screen, laser cut from 5 mm thick metal. It was cut into individual sections then hand made assembled with 7,000 individual welds. Each leaf and branch is individually hand-ground and is given a hand-rubbed bronze finish.
