This document lists pairs of words in English and Spanish that appear similar but have different meanings, known as "false cognates." Some examples provided are carpet/carpeta (folder), exit/éxito (success), parents/parientes (relatives), place/plaza (square), and fee/fe (date). It cautions that these words should not be confused due to their superficial similarity in spelling or pronunciation between the two languages.
