Prajwal was arrested in 2009 and charged with 14 cases of theft by police. He was tortured in police custody and forced not to reveal the truth. He spent 5 years in jail as an undertrial awaiting justice. Despite being acquitted of all 14 charges in 2014, he remained in jail for 19 more days due to a miscommunication. Amnesty International secured his release after just 45 minutes by delivering his acquittal orders to the jail authorities. Prajwal is now trying to move on with his life after being proven innocent but losing 5 years imprisoned.
