A massive storm formed off the coast of New England in October 1991. It was created by the rare combination of three powerful storm systems merging together - a hurricane force low, a cold front, and warm air from the Gulf Stream - generating waves over 100 feet high and winds over 120 mph. The resulting "perfect storm" caused severe damage along the East Coast and claimed the lives of the entire fishing boat crew when their vessel sank in the stormy seas.
