This conference launches a new year-long programme funded by the NCSL and is specifically for
those wanting to pursue headship in a Church school (It is currently full). To apply for a place on

This highly interactive training day is aimed at school leaders and teachers who are either new
to coaching or who have some experience. The day focuses on the critical skills of highly
effective coaches and how you can apply these in a range of contexts such as leadership,
management, teaching and one-to-one support and mentoring of children and colleagues.

This training day explores the relationship between coaching, questioning and highly effective
leaders drawing on research into emotional literacy and leadership. You will explore your own

with conflict and difficult people, planning and team creativity and the setting and clarifying of
whole organisational outcomes and goals.

The final day of the four day package pulls together the learning from the introductory days and
will help delegates to begin to think about implementing coaching approaches and programmes
in their own organisation. You will learn from real life research case studies illustrating how
schools and other organisations have implemented a range of models and learn about change
from organisational behaviour perspective.
Aspirant Heads Course
This programme is funded by the NCSL and is specifically for those wanting to pursue headship
in a church school.

Part of the course will involve a paired visit to a church school as part of a small school research
project. There are grants of £500 available to schools prepared to support this. If you are
interested in being one of our partner schools for this please contact Tatiana Wilson

Most courses are being run at the Old Deanery in order to keep costs to a minimum and so that
we can subsidise the Annual Diocesan Conference each year and make it as affordable as
possible for schools to attend. If there are other affordable venues in your area that you would

4. CANCELLATION In the event of cancellation, and if no other delegate can be sent as a
replacement the school will be liable to charges as follows: Cancellation within 2 months of
event - 100%; Cancellation more than 2 months prior to event - 50%.
5. Most courses will have a minimum number of participants required to make the course
viable. In the event of the Diocese cancelling the course, a full refund will be given.

The Hi-Impact Coaching development package consists of four high-quality training days.
Schools and organisations can purchase these days as stand-alone training beginning with Day 1
(as the entry-level training course):
Principles and practice (Day 1)
Going deeper with one-to-one coaching (Day 2)
Coaching as a leadership style (Day 3)
Coaching for organisational change (Day 4)

Delegates who have attended all four days are also able to proceed to the final accreditation
phases of the programme:
Certificate of professional practice in coaching and mentoring
(1 additional training day and 1 accreditation day with telephone coaching supervisor support to
facilitate their individual action learning project.)
Advanced certificate of professional practice in coaching and mentoring
 (1 further training day, a package including 10 reading list books, support to complete a formal
action research project and completion of a written critical analysis of the theory and practice of
coaching.)

November 2 Day Residential Aspirant Headteachers’ Conference Cost Venue: tbc NCSL funded 2nd & 3rd Facilitator: Tatiana Wilson This conference launches a new year-long programme funded by the NCSL and is specifically for those wanting to pursue headship in a Church school (It is currently full). The day focuses on the critical skills of highly effective coaches and how you can apply these in a range of contexts such as leadership, management, teaching and one-to-one support and mentoring of children and colleagues. June Hi-Impact Coaching and Mentoring Cost £75 per day for teachers and school leaders Subsidised by the 28th *see attached National Society Coaching for organisational change (Day 4) and the Jerusalem 9:30-3:00 Trust Venue: St Peter’s Secondary School Exeter Facilitators: Richard Churches or Nick Austin The final day of the four day package pulls together the learning from the introductory days and will help delegates to begin to think about implementing coaching approaches and programmes in their own organisation. You will learn from real life research case studies illustrating how schools and other organisations have implemented a range of models and learn about change from organisational behaviour perspective.

Aspirant Heads Course This programme is funded by the NCSL and is specifically for those wanting to pursue headship in a church school. www.exeterccyp.org/category/schools/succession-planning-sw/aspirant-heads/ Part of the course will involve a paired visit to a church school as part of a small school research project. There are grants of £500 available to schools prepared to support this. If you are interested in being one of our partner schools for this please contact Tatiana Wilson tatiana.wilson@exeter.anglican.org Diocesan Officers are available for bespoke In-service training as well as cluster work, please contact the office on 01392 294950. Venues Most courses are being run at the Old Deanery in order to keep costs to a minimum and so that we can subsidise the Annual Diocesan Conference each year and make it as affordable as possible for schools to attend. Schools and organisations can purchase these days as stand-alone training beginning with Day 1 (as the entry-level training course): Principles and practice (Day 1) Going deeper with one-to-one coaching (Day 2) Coaching as a leadership style (Day 3) Coaching for organisational change (Day 4) Delegates who have attended all four days are also able to proceed to the final accreditation phases of the programme: Certificate of professional practice in coaching and mentoring (1 additional training day and 1 accreditation day with telephone coaching supervisor support to facilitate their individual action learning project.)
