UPIC Intern, Summer 2015
Supervisor and Mentor: Whitney Brown
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As the Orientation School Supply
Drive intern for the Harvey and Lucinda
Gantt Center for Student Life, I gained a
great deal of experience in dealing with
people, organization, and the
community of Clemson. I worked the
orientation sessions and collected school
supplies from the incoming freshmen
and transfer. I also helped sell shirts, the
profits of which go to purchasing more
school supplies. In addition to working
orientation, I worked on the Explore
Your Impact program for incoming new
students. As a student coordinator for
this project I worked on nailing down
logistics of training, service, assessment,
and food.

SKILLS GAINED
My core technical skills include services
such as extreme organization with
Microsoft Excel. This was a first for this
project. It seemed to be very successful in
the long run. The department provided
exposure to a very diverse perspective. The
work with the Explore Your Impact
program meant that I had to develop on the
logistics for this week long program. I will
continue work on this program until it
arrives.
MENTOR FEEDBACK
The overall feedback I received from my
mentor was incredibly positive. I had a
good deal of autonomy on this project and
my mentor allowed me to make several
executive decisions.
UPON GRADUATION
I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2017 and
plan to go to graduate school for
anthropology.

Explore Your Impact will take place from August 11th
-14th
. I worked as a student coordinator. This project is a great
welcome to Clemson for the incoming students. I dealt with the Facilitator training that will take place on August 7th
.
Overall this project is one that allows for involvement from the incoming students who want a head start at Clemson.
