Evelyn Wilkinson was a pioneering female pilot who broke barriers as one of the first female pilots licensed in the United States. She earned her pilot's license in 1929 after taking lessons from famed aviator Amelia Earhart. Wilkinson went on to compete in air races and set records as she advocated for greater acceptance and opportunities for women in aviation.
