Our urban thriller conformed to conventions like including a hero, villain, and mystery to solve through realistic investigation. The carefully selected urban setting also created realism. However, we had limited resources so used a cheap car instead of flashy Hollywood vehicles.
We were influenced by real thrillers like Tower Block in our location choice, and Attack the Block for costumes depicting urban gang culture. However, our limited props and masks were used to still evoke fear rather than replicate real thrillers.
Overall we tried to conform to thriller conventions through settings, characters and themes, but were limited so challenged conventions through use of low budget available locations,

The institution that may distribute our media project would be Miramax Films, reason being that they have distributed and produced a number of thriller films such as ‘Doubt’ ‘Extract’ ‘Cold Mountain’. The money for our film would have come from government funding as we will be helping the community to stay alert and to always be on guard at all time just incase something does happen, we will also get funds from the distribution company. I will also be selling merchandise such as mugs, key rings, t-shirts etc to raise further costs The various people that are named in the titles are Ibrahim Ghani, Chloe Pilgrim, Khari Patterson and a few actors, when the names come up it tells us in the titles what jobs appear and what they did in the making of the film. We have done this so we can show our audience who is involved and what part they played. So for me I was titled as the director and the producer of the thriller opening sequence ‘Lost Footsteps’. Our film is similar to the film ‘Kidnapped’ as three hooded Eastern-European criminals burst into a home in Madrid, Spain, holding the family hostage in its own home, and forcing the father to empty his credit cards. I have watched the movie trailer and it has some sort of similarities as it has one person being held hostage and kidnapped, this links in with our thriller opening sequence as we also have people being kidnapped and held hostage. The film will run for 1hour and 40 minutes we do not want it to long as people will get bored and it will start to drag. The film ‘Taken’ also links is with this as it is a thriller, the movie was distributed by ‘20TH Century Fox’ which is a very big distribution company, so if we are lucky it can be distributed by them. Also Film4 can distribute the film as they make very good films, for directors who have a low budget.
