  • 27. As a documentary photographer Atget did not take that many photographs as they were snapshot.
  • 28. Being mostly unplanned Atget’s photo’s did not necessarily have all of the principles and elements of art. Analysis
  • 29.
  • 30. Shows how on a nice day children and adults alike take pleasure in seeing the animals perform at their best.
  • 31. The animals happily sit while being viewed by the audience.
  • 32. He positions the camera so that both the stage and the audience can be seen. By doing this the viewer can see both how the people react and what the animals are doing.
  • 33. Also Atget captures a crewmember working backstage showing not only the show but what makes it run. Interpretation
  • 34.
  • 35. I think this photo is great not only showing the audience and the the animals, but a crewmember too working backstage.
  • 36. Looks like a contemporary snapshot that has been tinted, not from around the 1900s
  • 37. Atget captures the real animal circus not just the glitz and the glam seen by the many but the shows different aspects.
  • 38. The different elements come together together to make the photo seem less put together and more organic to its place and time.Judgment
  • 39. Atget and the real France His inspiration came from his worry of what might happen if he did not take the pictures. Atget purposely did not make his pictures perfect. He wished to capture the real and untouched parts of France. When asked about his work Atget usually said that he has not done enough justice for France and that he has done only a little. Atget was a great photographer who captured the authenticity of France.
