2. SPANISH RESIDENCE VISA: THE LAW
◼ In 2013 Spain introduced a new law to attract property investors from outside the
European Union by offering Residence permits in return for an investment of
€500,000 or more in Spanish real estate.

order to make it easier and faster to obtain the Residence Permit

3. WHAT DO I GET WITH A RESIDENCE PERMIT?
◼ Spain Residence Permit allows you to live in Spain visa-free indefinitely

◼ The 26 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Czech

Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway,

◼ If you are married, the investment done by one of the spouses allows the other one the benefits of Residence and Visa applications

5. CAN I GET A SPANISH PASSPORT?
◼ Although the residence permit can be renewed indefinitely, the 2-year and
subsequent 5-year Residence Permits are not the same as a right to permanent
Residence or a Spanish passport. However, these Permits can lead to long-term
Spanish Residence status after 5 years of continuous residence, and citizenship
after 10 years of continuous residence, assuming all the other conditions of
applying for long-term residence status or citizenship are fulfilled.

7. HOW TO INVEST 如何投资
◼ Obtain an NIE number (Spanish Identity Number)

◼ Purchase a property or several properties worth €500,000 or more in Spain and sign the title deeds before
an official notary

◼ Once the property has been acquired, you can apply for the Residence Permit, MUST BE IN SPAIN FOR THIS
