What are the Aims of the
meeting?
>Develop and implement a City wide LD
Ethnic Diversity Strategy aimed at
addressing inequities of service provision
and ensuring services are accessible and
effective for people with LD from BME
communities in Bham.
>Generate new ideas & initiatives for
improved services for adults with LD from
BME communities.
Provide a forum in which a wide range of
local projects and initiatives for people with
LD from minority ethnic communities can
share information.
>Serve as a supportive function and act as
a resource for professionals.
>Promote closer working relationships
between statutory and non-statutory
sectors.
>Share information about local and national
models of good practise.

LD Board Meetings?
The board will look specifically
at the issue of tackling
inequality in service provision
for people with LD from diverse
communities.
Who attends?
Senior Representatives from a
range of LD Services as well as
carer and service users.
