1. Howdy!My name is Ethan Keller,fromCypressTexas.Currently,IamenrolledatTexasA&MUniversity,
where Iam currentlyinthe ConstructionScience program.However,mypassionisengineering,soIam
alsotakingengineeringclassesandattemptingto switchsophomore year.
I have beeninvolvedinmultipleprojects,despite me beingonlyacollege freshman.MyEagle
Scout projectwasan extremelycomplicatedproject(youmayreadaboutit on myfile),andIalsowas in
charge of puttingtogetherahigh school facultybreakfast,inwhichIhad to communicate andlead2
departmentsandover50 people.Alongwiththesemajorprojects,Iwasalsoprimarilyplacedincharge
of groupprojectsat my school andorganizedandcommunicatedoureffortswithhighchancesof
success. Inhighschool,I wasalso part of multiple clubsandoftenheldleadershippositionsinthem,
includingbeinganofficerinchoir,beinginNHS,beinginKeyClub,holdingatreasurerpositionforafun
club,and helda1st
LieutenantRankinmyschool’sAirForce JROTC Unit.
Personally,Ihave alwaysbeencalledanoptimist.Nomatterhow darka situationseems,I
alwaysfindthe lighterside init.Thisgifthaskeptmorale upinall the groupsI have beenin,evenwhen
we have thoughtwe were doomed.Ihave alsobeencalledahard worker,since once Istart somethingI
complete ittomy highestabilities,andefficient,sinceIam able toevenlydistribute the workload
amongstmy peers.
If I hadto name my strongesttraits,Iwouldfirsttalkaboutmy analytical sense.Iamhighly
capable of understandingcomplex data,andbreakingitdowntobe easilyexplainedandunderstood.I
have alsobeena leadermanytimes,causingme tobe able to drafta planinwhateverproblemImay
encounter.Ihave beencalledacharismaticindividual,andIdo make friendsandacquaintancesmuch
easierthanothers.Lastly,Iam alwaysopento new ideas,andnew waysof thinkingtosolve aproblem.
As a student,Ienjoykeepingbusyinmyfree time!Iam inthe Army ROTCProgram for the Corps
of Cadetsat TexasA&M, andI am also inthe SingingCadetsmen’schoir.InROTC,I have joinedthe
Rudder’sRangersunit,aunitdesignedtomimicaranger trainingcourse,withtheirownlabsand
morningexercises. Outside of college,Istill enjoybeingactive.Irunhalf marathons,Itravel constantly,
and I alwaystryand discoversomethingnew everyday.Ialsohave a blackbeltinTang Soo Do,and
Koreanstyle martial artsthat I sadlydo notpractice anymore.
To stand outfrom everyone else,Iknew Ihad to go above andbeyondthe normal actionsof a
person.Therefore,Ihave aknackfor goingout of my wayto helpothers,whetheritbe pickingafriend
up fromthe airport onshort notice,orbeingtoldthat I have to buildabridge ina wetland,soI builtone
100 feetlong(see the Eagle ScoutProjectformore info).Iamverypersistent,andIam able to
withstandalot of pressure before Icrack.If I am facedinfront of a difficulttask,Itry to tackle itwithall
my mightforas longas I can, and more oftenthan notI come out victorious.
Overthe years,I have earnedmultipleawardsandrecognitions,withthe mostimportantones
to me beingmyEagle Scout award,and my congressional nominationtothe US Naval Academy.With
my congressional nomination,Ihadtowrite to RepresentativeMichael McCaul,andexplaintohimasto
whyI wouldbe a suitable officerinthe military,alongwithhavingpassedagruelingphysical fitnesstest,
goingthroughcountlessinterviews, andkeepingmygradeshighthroughoutmyschool year. Andfinally,

awards,attendedandperformedatTMEA competition,andmultiplemedalsinJROTC.
