The student recorded their place of question by taking photos of different areas on their college campus. There was variety to focus on and develop. Lighting was important to see objects differently. The student focused on objects with different shapes.
When developing initial ideas, the student used different media to see what works together. This included a large drawing and 3D cardboard model. Research on other artists helped inform the student's brief to produce a piece of furniture incorporating nature.
The student created chair designs and researched artists John Makepeace and Spencer Jenkins. A final chair design was selected with leaves engraved on slanted legs. The student evaluated their time management, research, development, and final outcome which communicated the link between nature and

- 2. Primary Source Secondary Sources This is the model guitar that I made which is a study of the model guitar the Pablo Picasso made. Picasso has used visual language in this work by making the different parts different tones to give it a more natural look rather than it all being one colour.
- 3. This is my own study of the painting ‘Bottle, Wine and Fruit Bowl’, made by Juan Gris. (Original)
- 4. In this study of Andy Warhol's banana painting, I have used his techniques of how he paints the majority of his work. I made the textures of the painting by dabbing most of it to give it a rough look. (Original)
- 5. In this painting I have used a range of shading techniques, highlights and different colour tones. I have given this purple drape lots of different shades of purple to make it look realistic. When I started, I put a base colour down first and then worked on that to build the curves and depth. I only used acrylic paint for this piece of work.
- 6. Health &Safety rules of the workshop Whilst in the workshop, the coats provided and safety glasses provided must be worn whilst using the machines for protection. One person is allowed to use the machines at a time and the others must stand back to give the user space. My model was inspired by my panting of a drape rapped around a wooden frame. I made a couple which showed the ways in which things rap around poles or frames.
- 7. The aim of this assignment is to help us to explore the different techniques of art, to experiment and try new things. My initial sources of inspiration were the mixed media projects of art and I started to add more and more techniques and materials to my work. I thought that I would try to used new materials that I would not usually use in my work and try to fit them in. One of my favourites was the ink which I used to give bolder and more detailed outlines to drawings. As I had not used ink that much, I had to find some ways to apply it I a creative way to my work. I did a little bit of research to find artists that used ink so that I could get some ideas for my work one of the artists I researched was ‘Fred Kennett who used ink to show the darkness in his work. My best piece of work that I made using ink was of a ‘converse shoe’ hanging from a wooden frame which was in the still life used at the college. My work Work by Fred Kennett
