Today, We may witness mild positive opening in Nifty around 8610 level on
back of SGX Nifty and other Asian counters which is trading on negative note
today.
Erasing all their early gains, the Indian benchmark -- Nifty -- ended the session
in red on Thursday. Profit booking which took place in second half of session
mainly dragged the market lower. After a positive start, market manage to
hold their gain in first half of trade, as sentiment remained upbeat with the
Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman pitching for as much as
200 basis points that is 2 per cent, interest rate cut by RBI to help the cash-
starved MSME sector. Meanwhile, Indian government has approved a revised
double tax avoidance agreement (DTAA) between India and Cyprus for the
prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to Taxes on Income. The rupee
recovered against the US dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign
Exchange on increased selling of the American currency by exporters and
banks, provided some upside support. However, heavy selling pressure
witness in afternoon session and market extended losses to touch intraday
day lows. Sentiment was affected by the private repot indication that India Inc
is enduring its worst earnings drawdown of the last 20 years, burdened by
weak growth, high interest costs with excessive private sector debt and over-
capitalized balance sheets. Trader also remained wary ahead of August series
derivatives expiry. On global front, European stocks saw their biggest fall in
three weeks and currency markets were noticeably subdued as investors took
to sidelines. Meanwhile, Asian shares ended in red, ahead of Federal Reserve
Chairwoman Janet Yellen’s speech scheduled on August 26, 2016 which could
provide hints about the timing of the next rate hike from the Fed.
The top gainers in Nifty index were BHEL, BPCL, GAIL, ITC, HCLTECH. While on
the other hand, top losers were WIPRO, ADANIPORTS, IDEA, ZEEL, TECHM.

 Nifty has formed strong bear candle, Nifty has formed its day high in initial minutes of trading session
and thereafter moved lower till last moment. It shows bears were dominating session thought the day.
 From past one and half month Nifty is oscillating in the range of 8500 to 8700 level. After a strong up
move Nifty seems to be in time wise correction.
 In recent past it was first time that Nifty went below its 21 day short term moving average, but for
further confirmation we need to see next day candle to take a cues.
 Going forward, As nifty is holding its 8580 key level. Sustainability below 8580 level and 21 day short
term moving average can put pressure on market.
 Index has crossed its immediate hurdle of 19100 level but thereafter it was miss follow up buying.
 Bank Nifty has formed its day high in initial minutes of trading session and thereafter moved lower till
last moment. It shows bears were dominating session throughout the day.
 From past 3 trading session Bank Nifty has formed base around 19200 level which can act as support in
coming session.
 Going ahead, sustainability above 19200 level can be considered as positive territory and from
positional perspective 19100 level will act as crucial support.

Derivative Front:
The India VIX contraction by 1.50% and reached 13.28. The Nifty
was down by 58.10 points or 0.67% to settle at 8,592.20.
From the most active contracts, ICICI Bank September 2016
futures traded at a premium of 1.65 points at 248.65 compared
with spot closing of 247.00. HDFC Bank September 2016 futures
traded at a premium of 8.30 points at 1267.30 compared with
spot closing of 1,259.00. Sun Pharmaceuticals September 2016
futures traded at a premium of 4.80 points at 769.90 compared
with spot closing of 765.10. Reliance Industries September 2016
futures traded at a premium of 5.55 points at 1019.50 compared
with spot closing of 1,013.95. Infosys September 2016 futures
traded at a premium of 6.60 points at 1043.50 compared with
spot closing of 1,036.90.
The Nifty PCR finally stood at 1.02 for September month
contract. The top five scrips with highest PCR on OI were
M&MFIN (4.23), IBREALEST (1.45), MCLEODRUSS (1.41),
ORIENTBANK (1.38) and AMARAJABAT (1.29).
