The FBM KLCI index gained 0.36 points or 0.02% on Friday. The Finance Index fell 0.39% to 15599.39
points, the Properties Index dropped 0.51% to 1217.45 points and the Plantation Index rose 0.14%
to 7461.84 points. The market traded within a range of 13.59 points between an intra-day high of
1738.09 and a low of 1724.50 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include CHINA50-H1, CHINA50-C2, CHINA50-C4, PERDANA, MSPORTS, JAKS,
AAX, CHINA50-C5, PESONA and MPAY-WA. Trading volume decreased to 1456.26 mil shares worth
RM1390.73 mil as compared to Thursday’s 1457.53 mil shares worth RM1853.02 mil.
Leading Movers were PETDAG (+24 sen to RM20.80), GENM (+4 sen to RM4.24), DIGI (+5 sen to
RM5.53), GENTING (+7 sen to RM8.28) and BAT (+48 sen to RM64.48). Lagging Movers were ASTRO
(-6 sen to RM2.98), HLFG (-28 sen to RM15.40), CIMB (-6 sen to RM5.48), WPRTS (-3 sen to RM4.27)
and HLBANK (-8 sen to RM13.60). Market breadth was negative with 295 gainers as compared to
459 losers.
The KLCI reversed its losses at midday, closing marginally higher at 1734.24 points on late buying
interest. Our local bourse stayed in the red throughout the trading session as investors were taking
profit following the rally in the past three days and as absence of fresh positive catalysts kept mar-
ket sentiment muted.
