On my mom’s side, I inherited a risk of cancer and high blood pressure. My maternal grandpa died from lung cancer. So I have inherited quite a few health risks from my parent’s families.

My health triangle
My health triangle cont.I think that I am in average physical condition, but I could definitely improve. I practice lacrosse five days a week and go running every once in a while. For the most part I eat healthy but I need to choose healthy snacks instead of the types of snack I normally have. I could go to bed earlier but for the most part I get enough sleep. Socially I am very healthy. I hardly ever have any friend problems and I enjoy hanging out and talking to my friends. I also don’t have any problems getting along with people I am not friends with. Emotionally and Mentally I am also very healthy. I feel good about the way I look and feel. I also make an effort to learn during school and study. I believe that if one area of your life is lacking, it affects your whole life. So that is why you need to strive to be an all around healthy person.

Everyday we have choices to make and we need to make good choices and never give up. This represents me because I try to make the most out of everyday and remember to appreciate my friends and family.

Future AspirationsI chose my mom because growing up, she taught me what was right and wrong and how to behave and to be polite ect.	Dear Mom, I just wanted to thank you for all you have done for me growing up. When I was sick you took care of me; when I was scare you rocked me back to sleep. Whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on you comforted me. When I was little you taught me to be nice to everyone and to always remember that my sister will always be there for me even when my friends are not. You taught me to say please, thank you, and your welcome and to laugh everyday. And now that I am older and stressed from school you always cheer me up with your momish jokes. I will love you forever and always. Your Daughter,Courtney
Future AspirationsThree years: In three years I will still be living in Okinawa, Japan on the military base since that’s where I am moving this summer with my family. I want to be working as a life guard.Five years: I see myself living in an apartment with some close friends nearby UVA. I will be working on getting my Bachelors in nursing.Ten years: I hope to be working as a neonatal nurse and married or dating. And have a yellow lab! If I could accomplish one thing in my life it would be to live a long, healthy life surrounded by friends and family who love me. I hope to raise a family and make a positive impact on people’s lives.
Media Awareness I think that the media definitely influences me. It influences everyone! Everyday I see ads for makeup and clothes and beauty products. It makes you say “ I wish my skin was as flawless as that! Maybe I need that makeup too.” But in reality, buying most of those products are a waste of money. Many ads are photo shopped and they change the skin tone to match all over, but only after their make up is done by a professional who contours and covers their face with make up. So in reality you need to be confident and appreciate what you have!
