Nan Madol, located in Micronesia, is often referred to as the "Venice of the Pacific" due to its intricate system of canals and stone platforms. According to local legend, two wizard brothers named Olisihpa and Olosohpa arrived by canoe seeking to build a place to worship sea and harvest gods. After two failed attempts, they used magic and a dragon to levitate blocks of stone and successfully construct the city. Descendants of the wizards maintained control of Nan Madol until it was eventually abandoned.
