Good morning Mr. Kelly:
I have known Wendell since 1996. At that time, he was just starting out in Food and Beverage in the
Richmond, VA area. I have managed Wendell at several properties to date as well as worked for him at
the Westwood Club and with his catering endeavors with Celebrations and Events Unlimited. I can tell
you with 100% certainly that he is very detail oriented to the point of making sure that the smallest details
are taking care of. Wendell is very creative and owning his own linen and decorations helps
tremondously in that respect. He is a born organizer both in front of house and esp. back of house
operations.
I can confirm that Wendell has worked a very large number of weddings to date and managed at least
half of them at the country clubs he has worked at either as a banquet captain / manager or brought in as
an independent contractor to work with the bride and groom to design and decorate. Personally, I helped
him at the Doubletree Hotel in Charlottesville, VA in the past, where the bride and groom raved about
how the inside ballroom was transformed into a virtual outside setting with no details left out.
Wendell is often asked to cater events and functions as he has developed a strong reputation in the area
for being creative & loaning out equipment and decorations, being a hard worker and task master, and
finally doing what needs to be done with or without a staff to ensure that the client and guests' needs are
taken care of.
I would characterize Wendell by his creativity and attention to quality and detail. When Wendell sees
something that is wrong he wants to fix it. He accepts all challenges and responsibilities directed towards
him.
