Find Out who End Slavery Now Follows on
Instagram...and Why!
Tuesday, July 28, 2015 - 12:53
Recently, I was granted the task of helping manage End Slavery Now’s Instagram page, and I’ve
had a real joy in doing so. I’ve been on a social media binge since and discovered various
organizations who are standing hand-in-hand with End Slavery Now in ending modern-day
slavery.
Social media is not only a place to post a picture of a gouda sandwich ordered at the trendiest
neighborhood deli or a place to post a selfie where the sun is hitting just right; it’s also an
avenue for people to share their voices and stand for causes. Fortunately, social media can do
some good in the world of non-profits and organizations.

The A21 Campaign (@thea21campaign)
A21 is a world-renowned organization dedicated towards freedom, and their page is devoted
to walking their followers through A21’s day-to day work and keeping their Instagram family
abreast of all that happens in their offices. A21 offices are located across the globe. Follow
them for phenomenal pictures, from Greece to Australia.
Truckers Against Trafficking (@truckersagainsttrafficking)
If you want your fair share of state tip call stats on modern slavery,
@truckersagainsttrafficking is definitely the page for you. Truckers Against Trafficking
educates the public in a fun and design friendly way while also offering quotes that will
enlighten and change your day. Truckers Against Trafficking is far from an exclusive page just
for truckers, it is public friendly and a great resource for all of those in the fight against
modern-day slavery.
The End Crowd (@theendcrowd)
The End Crowd is dedicated to bringing communities together with the sole purpose of ending
modern slavery. I particularly like @theendcrowd for their positive approach. There aren’t too
many drab and scary photos; rather, they take on a positive and light-hearted approach by
showing day-to-day success stories in the fight against slavery. Must follow!
For all you shoppers out there interested in changing or maintaining your smart consumer habits, we
have some pages for you. Most of these pages offer awesome sales and products for both men and
women, and all of these pages promote fair labor and/or fair trade practices.
Made In A Free World (@madeinafreeworld)
Made In A Free World‘s main motto is “Disrupting the business of slavery and making freedom
go viral.” The main goal is simple: to have everything produced and manufactured in a world
rid of human trafficking and modern-day slavery. This page offers beautifully composed
graphics, gift guides and links to their website to shop for items made in a free world. Be an
ethical consumer, and shop with Made In A Free World!
Equal Exchange (@equalexchange)
If you want to learn about fair trade items, this is your page. With coffee, food and more, you
can make sure you are exercising ethical consumer practices! Fair Trade is definitely our thing
here at End Slavery Now.
Rooted (@rootedbeautyco)
4. This one is more so for the ladies, and if you follow us on any social network, you have
probably seen us post about Rooted Beauty for their awesome products. Turns out, they just
so happen to have an awesome Instagram page as well. Rooted has a page full of fresh fruits
and colors that makes scrolling on their page an enjoyable venture. Rooted Beauty helps
empower women who want to escape exploitation and poverty. It’s a must follow.
Oliberté (@oliberte)
Oliberté is a great company that makes quality, fair trade leather shoes for men. Oliberté is a
trendy page that uses warm colors to catch your eye. This is one of my favorite pages because
of the artistic approach they take in designing their photos while also committing themselves
to a great cause. This page is a wonderful page to follow not only for the items they sell but
the impeccable photos they post as well.
Freeset USA (@freesetusa)
Freeset’s page is special in many ways, but one way specifically is the dedication they have
towards taking pictures of their women actually making the products they sell. These behind
the scenes peeks allow their followers to feel as if they have a part in the making of these
bags and organic tees as well. Freeset’s page markets awesome products for women and men
and is a great page to follow if you have an interest in combating sex slavery.
Overall, you can choose to support organizations and causes fighting against modern-day
slavery in small but important ways. Following groups on Instagram might seem like a simple
contribution, but we all have to start somewhere and keep moving from there to effect
change. These pages are great starting points, and I suggest that you keep going from here, as
I have only brushed the surface of great Instagram pages! Come check out End Slavery Now’s
Instagram page (@endslaverynow) and give us a follow as well. We love to repost items and
posts from some of our favorite organizations, and we also love to keep our loyal followers
aware of what we are doing as an organization
So why not? Take out your phones and act. Like a couple Instagram pages, support
organizations and build the movement!
