Geographical location and size
This is located near a lake which is in the northern part of the country. This is a town covers an area of approximately 8540 km2
Population
The town’s population is approximately 26,710 persons. This population is evenly distributed in the land covered by the town.
A brief history
This town was found around the basis of the healing powers of the waters emerging from one of the springs near the lake. It started with a small group of individuals who have been growing since 1879 to date. The first healing incident was of a leg problem of a passer-by who then spread the news about the ‘healing waters’. From then the area has experienced rapid growth into a small town. The economic distribution was, however, uneven as the springs attracted the rich individuals while the outskirts were left for the poor ones. The town attracted a large of investors who were excited by the thought of exploring new towns.
However, the trend did not hold for this town as the emergence of modern medicine reduced the influence of the spring. The town’s economy declined a bit. However, it picked up again in the 1920s when tourism came up and automobiles improved transportation systems. The town was then hit the great depression, and world war II. It, however, survived all the setbacks and attacked more tourists.
Basic vital statistics
The population estimates for the town as the population estimates of 2019 are 26710 which a decline from 27,191 in 2010. The town has, therefore, registered – 1.8% population growth.
Most of the population is aged between 18 and 64 years. Only 18% is below 18 years and the population below 5 years is 6.1%. Females make the better part of the population with of percentage of 49.6. This is almost half the population of the town. The town is made of mixture races but the dominant race is the whites while the least in the town are the African Americans. Relationship between community and nature in the egyptian villages efla2012Ahmed Haron
The relationship between man and nature since the dawn of history embodied in the first agricultural community in the valley of the Nile in Egypt, which is one of the early societies that were formed and connected to nature. This community has been affected and influenced this nature to form one of the great civilizations over history. This relationship has continued in this valley to evolve towns, villages, countries and different communities and the key factors of these communities were water and greenery .
In recent times as a result of social, cultural and urban changes, this distinctive relationship face a set of challenges and problems that may affect the natural environment where it began migration from rural to urban areas and the collapse of the traditional concept of farming so that the urban population in Egypt could reach from 40% in 2010 to 60% in 2030, threatening the agricultural environment. Facing main reasons like the cultures of social change to rural communities in Egypt and the lack of scientific development environment may help these communities to survive and extent.
Egyptian lakes have social and environmental mixture which mixing between farmers, fishers and Bedouins. These various societies and different cultures live together surrounding Egyptian lakes that give these sites very special character. Villages surrounding lakes are contorted with number of problems such as accommodations, rapidly growing populations, unemployment, lack of education and lack of environmental awareness.
The research presents the problem of these communities surrounding Egyptian lakes and the development of methods and environmental performance of these urban communities in line with the challenges of recent time.
The aim of this paper is to formulate a conceptual framework to achieve the harmony between Urban, community and surrounding nature in Egyptian villages. Through an interdisciplinary literature review the concepts of green and social infrastructure. Finally, based on a synthesis of the literature a conceptual framework is presented.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Ancient Town
Old City in Jerusalem
Location
Jerusalem located on a plateauin the Judean Mountains between the
Mediterranean and the Dead Sea, is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is considered holy to the three major Abrahamic religions—Judaism,
Christianity and Islam. At Jerusalem’s heart is the Old City, which is surrounded by a wall and divided into four quarters - Jewish, Armenian,
Christian, and Muslim. Inside the walls are the important holy sites of the three major religions: the Western Wall, which is holy to the Jews, the
Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. The Western Wall plaza is visited by millions of worshipers. Here, at
the base of the massive wall that is a remnant of the Holy Temple, prayers are offered and notes containing heartfelt wishes are wedged between
the crevices.
Physical Structure
The surface area within the walls of the Old City is approximately 900 dunums (.91 sq.k,), or approximately 225 acres, an area somewhat less than
one square kilometer. It is divided into four ethnic/religious quarters: Muslim, Jewish, Armenian, and Christian. Within the latter, neighborhoods
are based along sectarian (e.g. Greek Orthodox and Latin Patriarchy) affiliation. The Muslim Quarter is Sunni; the Jewish quarter is a mixture of
religious and secularfamilies. And within the four areas there is a gradation in the social structure, the infrastructure, and the roads network.
When viewed closely, the Old City is not a homogenous community, but rather has the complexity one associates with urban life.
The Old City has had its current configuration since Ottoman rule, during which time the wall was built and the city boundaries set. The first
municipality was created inside the walls in 1863. Soon after, the built-up areas outside the walls were added to the municipal administration,
these became neighborhoods such as Al Musara, Sheikh Jarrah, and Bab As Sahira.
The Old City’s walls constitute its physical boundaries, and its gates provide contiguity with the surrounding neighborhoods. The walls are the
signature structure of the entire city, a key element of the city landscape, and are a major tourist attraction. The height of the Old City walls reach

17 meters in some areas, and they have an average height of 11.6 meters. They are two meters thick in most places and they are interrupted by 34
towers and 11 gates, four of which are closed. It is fairto say that its scale and architectural style give a special image to the city.
Urban planning issues
Critics of efforts to promote a Jewish majority in Jerusalem say that government planning
policies are motivated by demographic considerations and seek to limit Arab construction
while promoting Jewish construction. According to a World Bank report, the number of
recorded building violations between 1996 and 2000 was four and half times higher in
Jewish neighborhoods but four times fewer demolition orders were issued in West
Jerusalem than in East Jerusalem; Arabs in Jerusalem were less likely to receive
construction permits than Jews, and "the authorities are much more likely to take action
against Palestinian violators" than Jewish violators of the permit process. In recent years,
private Jewish foundations have received permission from the government to develop
projects on disputed lands, such as the City of David archaeological park in the 60% Arab
neighborhood of Silwan (adjacent to the Old City), and the Museum of Tolerance on
Mamilla Cemetery (adjacent to Zion Square). Opponents view such urban planning moves as geared towards the Judaization of Jerusalem.
Jerusalem Old City - Palestine, West Bank, Jerusalem. One of the
most significant cities in world history, meeting place of cultures
and world religions. City was inhabited and heavily fortified already
in the 11th century BC. Current 4.5 km long walls were built by
Suleiman the Magnificent in 1538. Includes the Western Wall,
Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Temple Mount, al-Aqsa Mosque and
other monuments.

Present City
Mexcaltitan City
Mexcaltitán de Uribe
Mexcaltitan is a small island city off the Pacific coast of Mexico, in the state of Nayarit. Traditionally Nayarit has not been a part of the huge annual
influx of visitors to Mexico. Although Puerto Vallarta is located directly South of the state’s border and Mazatlan is located directly North, the
region has avoided the inundation of tourism. Although that is changing, the kind of visitor coming to Nayarit is not of the ‘Spring Break’ variety,
but of the Archaeotourism variety.
Location
Mexcaltitán de Uribe is located in the municipality of Santiago
Ixcuintla in the Mexican state of Nayarit with the GPS
coordinates:
Longitude (dec): -105.475278, Latitude (dec): 21.905833
Height over sea level
The locations medium height over sea level is 5 meters.
Population
The over all population of Mexcaltitán de Uribe is 895 persons, 465 of them are male and 430 of them are female.

Age distribution
The population of this place consists of 286 minors and 609 adults, with 145 of them being 60 years and older.
Social structure
A legal claim on health care and social
insurance benefits have 706 citizens of
Mexcaltitán de Uribe.
Economic situation
In Mexcaltitán de Uribe exist about 235
households.Of these households 231 are
common houses or apartments, 14 are without
floor and about 30 consist of one room only. 210
of the normal households have sanitary
installations, 215 are connected to the public
water supply, 227 have access to electricity.
The economic situation allows 5 households to
own a computer, 146 own a washing machine
and 218 households are equipped with one ore
more televisions.
School and education
Besides the 37 analphabets aged 15 or older, about 1 minors between 6 and 14 are not visiting a school. 37 inhabitants of the
population of 15 years and older did not visit a school and 307 persons did not finish the school. 168 visited only the 6 yea rs lasting
primary school, 139 visited and finished the college or similar scholar institutions. A total of 52 aged 15 to 24 years visited a school, the
medium time school is visited through the whole population is 7 years.

Future Town
Sea scraper
Throughout history, through his need for civilization, man has
created buildings that consume resources. The skyscraper is
the epitome of this voracious consumption, its highly dense
grouping of activities ie work, play, rest etc has become an
ominous harbingers of our ecologically bleak future. As a
reaction to the modern skyscrapers and its dilemmas the
world’s eminent minds have created many variations of the
skyscraper in the form of the antithetical subscrapers,
groundscrapers and even depth scraper. Yet still they still
struggle to achieve zero input/zero output in terms of
resource production. There are greenscrappers which ,
though themselves are ecologically sound, are tied to and
urban fabric and interconnection of production networks which are still contributing negatively towards the environment.
Design Concept
The hO2+ scraper proposes to break free of the urban fabric and functions as self-sufficient ambassadors in the sea. The hO2+ scraper is an
autonomous floating unit of livable, functional and self sustaining space which will function, in a collective manner, as a floating city. It is self
sufficient as it generates its own power through wave, wind, current, solar, bio etc. and it generates its own food through farming, aquaculture,
hydroponics etc. It carries with its own small forest on top its back and supports places forusers to live and works in its depths. Its
bioluminescent tentacles provide sea fauna a place to live and congregate while collecting energy through its kinetic movements. Such
sustainability strategies aimto ultimately create and provide an oasis with ‘Zero’ negative impacts to the environment, not only that but also
improves on it hence the ’Plus’. Aptly as poetic antithesis to a skyscraper which goes up into the heavens the hO2+ scraper goes down to the
depths of the sea.
10. ERICA LO SET LEK | ELEMENTS OF NATURAL BUILT AND ENVIRONMENTS|FNBE AUGUST 2014
Main Components
The main components of the programme for the hO2+ scraper consist of resource
generation (i.e. power, food, air etc), living, work, play, waste treatment and
maintenance. The programme is spread evenly in accordance to the proximity of
any specific required external resource i.e. the wind generators are placed of the
roof garden island, the livestock
farming component is also placed
there, the living areas are placed just
below sea level where the natural
light is the best etc.
The building itself is kept upright using
a system of ballast and balancing
tanks. The tentacles also serve as
balancing elements as they, in generating their power, are constantly moving with the rhythm of the
tide. The buoyancy and ballast controls are placed at the lowest portions to create the proper
counterforce for keeping the building upright.
Conclusion
In the finality, we envision a future where land as a resource will be scarce; it is only natural
progression that we create our own. Approximately 71% of the Earth’s surface is ocean, even more if
climate change has its way, hence it is only natural progression that we will populate the seas
someday. We picture a new metapolis, created from a collection of hO2+ scrapers, as a city that does
not consume nature but creates and produces nature. In the end becoming hO2+ Cities.

What is a floating on water town?
1. Retrofittedcruiseships
The first seasteads are projected to be cruise ships adapted for semi-permanent habitation. Cruise ships are a proven technology, and they address
most of the challenges of living at sea for extended periods of time. The cost of the first shipstead was estimated at $10M.
2. Spar platform
The Seasteading Institute has been working on communities floating above the sea in spar buoys, similarto oil platforms. The project would start
small, using proven technology as much as possible, and try to find viable, sustainable ways of running a seastead. Innovations that enable full-time
living at sea will have to be developed. The cruise ship industry's development suggests this may be possible.
A proposed design for a custom-built seastead is a floating dumbbell in which the living area is high above sea level, which minimizes the influence
of waves. In 2004, research was documented in an online book that covers living on the oceans.
The Seasteading Institute focuses on three areas: building a community, doing research and building the first seastead in the San Francisco Bay. In
January 2009, the Seasteading Institute patented a design for a 200-person resort seastead, ClubStead, about a city block in size, produced by
consultancy firm Marine Innovation & Technology. ClubStead marked the first major development in hard engineering, from extensive analysis to
simulations, of the seasteading movement.
3. Modular island
András Gyõrfi's "The Swimming City"
At the Seasteading Institute Forum, an idea arose to create an island from modules. There are several different designs for the modules, with a
general consensus that reinforced concrete is the most proven, sustainable and cost-effective material for seastead structures, as indicated by use
in oil platforms and concrete submarines.
4. Other
Many architects and firms have created designs for floating cities, including Vincent Callebaut, Paolo Soleri and companies as Shimizu and Tangram
3DS. Marshall Savage also discussed building tethered artificial islands in his book The Millennial Project: Colonizing the Galaxy in Eight Easy Steps,
with several color plates illustrating his ideas. Some design competitions companies such as Evolo have also yielded designs.

Conclusion
After this planning, I get to know that planning a city is not an easy job. There are a lot of to
consider, you have to consider the people who are living inside, and some activities they can
do or some needs. This is a huge project. But I’m glad that I learn something different.
Planning for a better town is not necessary modern outlook, or high technologies. For my
opinion, to build a better town is to create a green and environmentally friendly area. Future
city need more green environment to reduce pollution or the damage that bring down from
past. It is very important to maintain the mutualism between the healthy environments and
humans.
Together we can change the world.
