Dear all, 
On Monday, 25 August we begin the 10-day countdown to the NATO Summit. The Summit strategic 
communications team and the UK delegation to NATO are preparing a variety of digital content for 
those 10 days, which they will send you over the next couple of weeks. 
To help you organize the content you will be receiving from different sources, the Digital Hub for 
Europe will send you a daily email starting next Monday, summarizing the digital priorities for each 
day. 
So that you know in advance what to expect, here is a list of the materials currently being prepared: 
- Banners to brand your social media channels for the Summit – expected this week from the 
Summit strategic communications team. To be added to channels on Monday 25/8. 
- (tbc) Twitter Q&A with Ambassador Adam Thomson, to be run by UKDel. Planned for 
Monday 25/8, expect more information this week. 
- For the 10-day countdown, UKDel NATO is preparing content on specific topics (for example 
NATO Partnerships, Afghanistan, Defence Spending, Capabilities, etc.). The goal is to focus 
on a single topic during each of the 10 days. They hope to have facts, videos, quotos and 
infographics, and plan to send you the materials for each day the previous evening. Please 
note that on Friday 22/8 you will be receiving the materials for Monday. 
- “Wales Day” on social media, on 1 September. NATO posts and partners will be asked to 
promote Wales using #mywales. The strategic comms team is working with the Welsh 
government to provide you with additional content for that day, including images, Twitter 
ideas, Wales facts and hashtags. Expect more information this week. 
- During the Summit, a variety of content is planned, including shareable multimedia content 
from the summit, live streaming of key moments, a live blog, photos etc. Please make sure 
you monitor @NATOWales both before and during the summit, and amplify messages as 
appropriate. 
- As background, attached is the most recent newsletter from the strategic comms team – it 
includes a communications pack (including social media guidance) and other useful material. 
Finally, please note that this email is intended for digital communications officers at NATO ally and 
partner posts. If you think we should add another colleague from your post to this mailing list, please
