Else-Marie Fogtmann has over 30 years of experience working in agriculture in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Namibia. She has extensive technical knowledge of tropical agriculture, with a focus on cashews and other annual crops. Since 2014, she has been the Administrator of EMAJU, a cashew company she established in Mozambique's Nampula province. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2014, she worked as an independent consultant on cashew projects in northern Mozambique. 1. 1993 – 94 Identification and legalization of land for ADPP Moçambique in Itoculo (DUAT)
2. 1995 – 2013 Establishment and management of a 115 hectare cashew plantation belonging to
ADPP;
a. 2005 starting up micro-scale cashew processing at the ADPP plantation in Itoculo with
an annual processing capacity of 40 MT of raw cashew nuts;
b. 2007 starting up a pilot facility processing the cashew apple;
c. Development of training modules in agriculture for small scale cashew producers with
training courses of 10 months of a yearly intake of 40 small-scale cashew farmers (1997
- 2004), onwards hosting training courses/seminars for agricultural technicians and small
scale producers in techniques related to cashew production on request;
3. From 2003 – 2013 in the Mogincual district involved in setting up 4 small (micro) scale cashew
processing units for individual emerging entrepreneurs and the organization of 650 cashew
producers in associations that in 2012 was Fair-Trade certified and with contracts with a local and
international buyer also Fair-Trade certified;
a. 2011 Expansion of the operation area to the Muecate district with 630 organized
producer-groups also Fair-Trade certified and with market access;

communities in the Monapo District;

District with a total of 1.200 small-scale farmers;
7. Since 2006 mobilization around the importance of early childhood education resulting in 50
neighbouring communities with pre-school education. By 2013 reached a net-work of 60 pre-
