Jane Creek, a 21-year-old woman in 18th century England, stole a loaf of bread to feed her starving family and was sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia as a convict. She describes the difficult conditions on the convict transport ship and in the Australian penal colony, where she works as a charwoman.
