2. ABOUT NATURE, 6x6
NATURE, 6x6 is a long term project that I have been working on for almost three ye-
ars now. After growing up in a small village in the countryside of the prealps, I moved
to Berlin to study photography. After moving to a big and loud city I begann realizing
how beautiful and calming nature can be. So whenever I came back to visit family and
friends, I went to the woods, had long walks and tried to soak in the fresh air. But
slowly I began to comprehend that not only big cities, like Berlin, are influenced by
mankind – also woods and what we see as our nature is so (I usually work around the
theme of human traces in urban places). So after that, I started to photograph these
human interventions in nature – which are hidden If you do not pay close attention.
To stimulate the viewers perception I decided to also include photos that, seem to be a
reflection of pure nature.
All pictures were taken with an old Yashica A 6x6, with the aim to try to fit the calm-
ness of the woods to the style of photography.
