1. My name is Josh Streeter, I am a graduate of Alvernia University with a Bachelors of
Science in Healthcare Science. Throughout my 4 years at Alvernia, the Healthcare Science
curriculum has given me a broad sense of what healthcare in America is all about. It has taught
me all the way from multiculturalism and disease prevention to how the healthcare system in
general works. The skills that I have attained through the curriculum are current in society today
by means of the affordable care act along with Medicare and Medicaid. Also, learning about the
business side of healthcare was very relevant by means of how much our country is in debt by
healthcare costs and different ways on how we can help change that trend. Other important skills
that I attained included finding current jobs in healthcare and how to work with others within that
job. I learned that communication is very key in all aspects of the workplace. This also goes
along with how to write in the healthcare setting because most jobs if not all jobs in healthcare
field require proficient in writing and knowing most medical terminology. Overall, my
experience in the Healthcare Science curriculum was very proficient in the skills that it taught
me to become a practitioner in my field of study.
