This document informs taxpayers that due to the overwhelming response to e-filing and to take e-services to the next generation, a new e-filing project has been conceptualized. Under the new setup, not only ITR forms but other income tax forms will be available for electronic filing along with other web-enabled services. However, due to data migration from the old system to the new system, e-filing services through the portal will be unavailable from November 3rd to 8th, after which services will resume with multiple filing options, helpdesk support, pre-filled forms, and offline e-forms.
