Ebrahim Hajee
Objective Cinematographer, filmmaker
Bio Growing up in Athlone, a suburb on the Cape Flats, Ebrahim started
doing graffiti and community upliftment work through art. This lead
him to his first documentary “Overspray” an iconic South African
graffiti film, which won a gold award for best documentary 2001 at the
stone awards, this was part of the encounters film lab. Wanting to be
a filmmaker Ebrahim went to film school, having chosen make-up and
special effects, due to financial reasons, Ebrahim plucked eyebrows
and never lost track of his goal. To be a filmmaker.
Today Ebrahim has filmed for loads of international and local clients,
and known amongst top production houses. He has a real street edge
to his film style and loves pushing boundaries. His passion lays in
documentaries, films and music videos. He is an artist that’s difficult
to pigeonhole, and brings a fresh, creative, offbeat approach to his
projects.
