Editor's Notes

  • #2 2. Forget your limits. Know yourself. My Brand Mantra
  • #3  3. Explain Mantra The belief in limits is self defeating. You can do anything.
  • #4 4. Explain Mantra Know what to expect of yourself. You’re the only thing holding yourself back, but you’re also the only thing that propels you forward. Everything is up to you.
  • #5  5. History I was born in the early 90’s, and from a young age developed a love for animation and art. I was always drawing, making little comic books, and begin my parents for art supplies.
  • #6  6. History As I got older, I started to follow the careers of various film directors, and began to love telling stories. I always excelled in creative writing classes, and I looked forward to hearing others opinions on the things I came up with.
  • #7  7. History Eventually, I decided to combine my two loves, and seek out education in animation. I figured it was the only way I could really express myself. I chose to focus on video game art, because I firmly believe interactive media is the future.
  • #8  8. What I want to create I like combining the old with the new. I want to take the styles and techniques of animation and art made popular in the early 20th century and translate them into new experiences with modern technology.
  • #9  9. What influences me I’m influenced greatly by the work of the Fleischer Brothers, particularly their more surrealist works. I also take great inspiration from the artwork of Jamie Hewlett and the animation of Ralph Bakshi. Music plays a big part in the things I make, despite being a visual artist. I try to incorporate the swank of 1920’s jazz with the psychedelic undertones of prog rock bands like King Crimson and Pink Floyd.
  • #10 Here’s something I made recently. I’m trying to work it into a shirt design. The characters are from Steven Universe, in poses referencing a scene from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
  • #11 I drew these characters while designing a shirt. They are from the anime Soul Eater, and I drew them in a style reminiscent of the Scott Pilgrim video game. I then pixelated the artwork.
  • #12 This is the final artwork used in the shirt.
  • #13 Here are a few concept art pieces for a web comic I’m currently working one. It’s a western with both comedic and horror overtones.
  • #14 A logo I made for a band.
  • #15 A few more works I’ve done for outside sources. The pony is a logo for a web show, drawn as a parody of My Little Pony. Wizard was a magic DVD for magician Dalton Wayne. The final image was a profile picture used by a popular youtube celebrity for a short amount of time based on Tyler the Creator and Count Chocula.
  • #16 A character I designed for a class.
  • #17 I modeled the character in CG.
  • #18 I also occasionally paint. This piece is based on the famous criminal Charles Bronson.
  • #19  15. Talk about work experience I’ve worked live shows on and off stage. While I do a lot of art commissions on the side, I’ve been primarily focused on designing shirts. A lot of my artwork was made while creating logos for various businesses. I’ve shot and edited film for various magic tutorial dvd’s.
  • #20  16. Talk about skills I’m good under pressure. I’m knowledgable in many subjects, I’m a quick leaner, and nothing ever really catches me off guard. I’m an artist and have been drawing for a number of years. I’ve been animating for two years, and I’m experienced with cg modeling and texturing. On occasion I’ve filmed and edited video, so I can really juggle multimedia projects.
  • #21  17. Talk about overcoming adversity My biggest adversary has been myself. I always have to push myself, and I cannot allow myself to stagnate. Physically, I suffer from chronic migraine headaches due to an injury I sustained as a child, but I feel like this has only made me stronger. It taught me to play through the pain, and made me a more humble person.
  • #22  19. Preferred work environment  I enjoy working with a team of people who are capable and open to suggestion. I like knowing that communication won’t be an issue between team members, and I make efforts to make sure everyone is on the same page. While I have no trouble being a mediator, I can take charge when I need to. This ability makes me comfortable in practically any situation.
  • #23  20. People I work well with I’m very good with people, and I can befriend anyone. I’m always honest, but I try to be constructive whenever possible, and I feel as though I bring out the best in the people I work with. My humor is really pronounced when I’m with a group of people who like to laugh, but I know when to dial it back to keep everyone on track.
  • #24  22. What success means to me Success is being able to live comfortably and do what I love to do. I don’t need to be the leader, and I certainly don’t need to be rich. I’ve succeeded when I can create things that people love.
  • #25  24. Ending summary Who am I? I’m an artist, I’m a proffesional, I’m a brother, but most importantly, I’m a friend to each and every person in this room, whether we’ve met previously or not. I’ve got your back.
