Internship at Yorkshire Air Museum
Let's start by saying that I am a foreign student who came here as a trainee for 7 weeks, from February to March.
I really enjoyed my stay and work experience at the museum. I came here with no expectations at all. I have never been behind the scenes at an aircraft museum and now I got the opportunity to experience it firsthand. Which made everything that I did here very interesting, enjoyable and an unforgettable experience.
I have done all kinds of work. From the basic sanding and painting until changing a wheel on the Dakota and everything in between like moving aircraft, doing some metalwork, making brackets, bleeding brakes, disassembling brakes and checking them and putting spark plugs in the Dakota engine. I even drove a tow truck! That was really amazing. I also got various guided tours in different aircraft and saw some of them run.
The people give such a good atmosphere and have helped me in every way they could. It is a group of people that work together as a family. I will never forget the people with whom I worked!
