Total experience in supervisory capacity was about 33 years w.e.f.
24.09.1981 and Retired on 31.07.2014 in the field of Mineral Economics. I
was officer-in-Charge Mineral Economics Division, Indian Bureau of Mines,
Nagpur.
Experience:
• Activities related to mineral information and advisory services which
includes collection, compilation and dissemination of data’s/information
on mines, minerals and in respect of metallic, non metallic and industrial
minerals and matter related to Mineral Advisory Board.
• Collection, compilation, tabulation and analysis of data pertain to
mineral-based industries and exploration agencies.
• Advice on matters related to mineral policy formulation, mineral
legislation, export-import policy etc.
• Preparation and quinquennial updation of National Mineral Inventory of
mineral resources which play a crucial role in evolving for judicious
management of country’s mineral resources. This provides an overview
of geological and techno-economical status of mineral resources as per
end-use grade classification for the country’s policy, planning and
programming of mineral development. The mineral resources data
disseminated though publication of Indian Bureau of Mines and being
used in various references, parliament question.
• Associated in drafting of chapters for Indian Minerals Year Book on
General and minerals reviews provides a status report of mining and
mineral industry on annual basis. This publication has wide ridership-
both National and International.

2. • Mineral Statistics relating to collection, compilation and processing of
comprehensive data on mineral Production.
• Advising on issues like distribution of mineral resources; production
pattern; marketing; consumption pattern; export-import of minerals in
India, exploration activity carried out by the various agencies and of the
varying trend in the international markets.
• Associated with formulation as well offering suggestion for mineral
legislations, trade policy, national mineral policy, amendment of the acts
and rules made there under as inquiry relating to various aspect of
minerals and metals from central ministries; state governments, public
sectors and private entrepreneurs.
• Associated in Study group on Revision of rate of Royalty and Dead rent
for non-minor minerals (other than coal & lignite and atomic minerals)
with formulation as well offering suggestion.
• Collection and compilation of mining lease data from state government
though correspondences.
• Supply of information for reply to Parliamentary Question, Ministry
Reference and other references relating to mines & minerals issue.
• Supervise country-wise mineral resources and mineral production.
• Preparation of brief/notes on mineral related problem as and when
required by the Ministry of Mines and State Governments
• Preparation of Technical papers, key note address and speeches as and
when required by the Central Ministry
• Interpretation of Mining Laws related to minerals, mineral policy, export-
import policy and advisory to the Government on such related matter.
• To supervise activities related to Mineral Legislation, Mining Lease and
World Mineral Intelligence.
• Attended various committees meetings and associated with Working
Group of Planning Commission of India for ferrous minerals for 12th
Five
Year Plan period.
• Co-ordination amongst different unit of Mineral Economics Division,
Indian Bureau of Mines, Nagpur including Press and Library.
