A mass messaging application has beendeveloped by
DeitY(Department of Electronics and Information Technology )
that will coverelected representatives and all government
employees. Over1.6 croremobiles 22 lakh emails are part of the
database. Theportal was released on15th August 2014. Data
collection and data sanitization areongoing processes.

18. 5.Secure email within government
Email would bethe primary mode of communication within
government . Thegovernment e-mail infrastructure would be
suitable enhanced and upgraded. Upgration of the infrastructure
would befurther upgraded to cover50 lakh employees by march
2015 at a costof Rs.98 cr.Deity is the nodal department for the
scheme.
