2. THE INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION
The Indus Valley Civilisation started from the north to south of the Indus covering over 1000 miles.
As the climate grew warmer, the people of Indus Valley settled down in the banks of river Indus and
grew crops.
The two major capitals were Harappa and Moen-Jo-Daro. Harappa Moen-Jo-Daro

3. Harappa
Harappa was the first archeological discovery in Pakistan made by sir John Marshall
in 1920.
Harappa was located on the banks of river Ravi in the District of Sahiwal.
Harappa dates back to 2500BC.
4. Moen-jo-daro
Moen-Jo-Daro is also one of the earliest civilisation in this region.
Moen-Jo-Daro is on the banks of river Indus in the province of Sindh.
Moen-Jo-Daro means the mound of the dead.
Moen-Jo-Daro dates back to 3500BC.
Archeologists discovered it on 1922.
5. MEHRGARH
Mehrgarh is located in Balochistan.
It was discovered by Sardar Ghous Baksh Raisani on 1968.
This civilization was spread over many areas of Kot Diji, Rehman Dehri, Dadhar and
Dera Ismail Khan.
