1. New C.C. E.A.F. (Constant Courant Electrical Arc Furnace) at Cockerill Sambre Marcinelle – Charleroi (BE):
The new EAF from Paul Wirth consists of an anode (positive pole) which dips into the scrap to melt it. The bottom of the
oven acts as a cathode (negative pole) to pass current. The EAF is equipped with coal injection lances, burners,
automatic loading of scrap and a fumes recovery system.

4. The New Automation System for the C.C. E.A.F. is completely made with the INFI-90 System from Bailey:
It was the first project where PLC was not more used and both sequential and analog control (PID controller) was
programmed into the same redundant PCU. The PCU was formated into differents parts to have differents time scanning
based on analog, ladder or grafcet control.
