The Dutch Women's National Lacrosse team is seeking funding to compete in the 2013 Women's World Cup in Canada. Lacrosse is a fast-growing sport in the Netherlands, with clubs established around universities and new clubs added each year. The Dutch team improved their world ranking from 16th in 2005 to 13th in 2009. In 2012, they hosted a successful European championship and finished 7th. Sending a team to the World Cup this year will help further develop lacrosse in the Netherlands by building on this success. Each player will contribute €1500, and they are seeking additional funds through sponsorship and fundraising to cover the estimated €85,000 in costs.
