Durga Sagar, also known as Madhabpasha Dighi, is a large pond and popular historical place in Barisal, Bangladesh. It covers an area of about 2500 hectares and is surrounded by trees and coconut groves. Thousands of migratory birds flock to the pond in winter. There is a small island in the middle of the pond. The pond was excavated in 1780 and has enhanced the natural beauty of the area. It provides economic benefits to the local community through tourism and is a potential source of foreign exchange and employment for Bangladesh.
