This document discusses crime rates in the United States. It presents FBI crime data from 2018-2021 to analyze which states have the highest and lowest crime rates. The data shows property and personal crimes, as well as crimes against society. While crime patterns changed drastically from 2020-2021, generally the most dangerous states are New Mexico, Arkansas, Colorado, and Nevada, while the safest states are located on the East Coast like New Jersey and Vermont. Most crimes are of a non-deadly nature. Further analysis of longer-term data is needed to fully understand crime trends.
