Rene Pot gave a presentation on cross-platform mobile app development with Titanium and Alloy. He discussed that Titanium is a cross-platform JavaScript SDK that allows building native mobile apps. The Alloy MVC framework provides separation of concerns, garbage collection, theming and extensibility. Titanium offers easier maintenance than other frameworks and better support for native elements. It has many official modules and an open source codebase. Rene also mentioned upcoming support for VueJS and Angular in Titanium.

It was 2015 when Microsoft first announced Azure App Services. Since then the platform has gone through a lot of changes and tons of new capabilities and features were added. Especially when looking at Logic Apps. After the change in the engine and designer the first SAP Connector was removed from the platform, but recently the new SAP Connector was released in public preview. Now that the new SAP Connector is finally available Glenn will demonstrate how easy it is to build enterprise level integration scenarios with the SAP Connector for Logic Apps.

Slides from a talk on SMWCon 2016. In this talk, I will tell you the story of semantic::core, our SMW distribution born from the enterprise and built for the enterprise. Since its first release in 2011 a lot of things changed. In the meanwhile, the complete build process is automated, idempotent and available for Ubuntu LTS, Debian, OpenSuse and SLES operating systems. At Maersk Line, not only the world's biggest container ships, the 'Triple-E' class vessels were built. Continuous Integration and Delivery on a similar scale using Hudson, Maven and tools like Kokki (similar to Puppet or Chef, but written in Python) are also practiced there. This session is going to give a brief overview of Multi-Configuration (Matrix) job types used in most projects at Maersk around the globe. Things are being built and deployed in a heterogenous environment, otherwise probably found only at very large vendors of Public Cloud services like Google or Amazon. Provisioning of various OS is automated through Vagrant. Management and Planning of all tasks and 'Sprints' is following Agile principles, especially DevOps style Kanban. Where possible planned and controlled by Eclipse-based tools such as Mylyn Connectors accessing planning tools like TeamConcert, Xplanner or Mantis. While feature projects use Eclipse for Java or Scala/Play!, the DevOps teams use PyDev for Jython/WSTL or Python development.

Cloud-native applications offer scalability, flexibility, and optimal use of computing resources. Serverless functions interacting through events, leveraging cloud capabilities for persistent storage, and automated operations take the organization to the next level in IT. This session demonstrates polyglot Functions interacting with native cloud services for events and persistence (Object Storage and NoSQL Database) and leveraging the Monitoring and Notifications services for operational control. A lightweight API Gateway is used to expose APIs to external consumers. Infrastructure as Code is the guiding principle in deploying both cloud resources and application components, through OCI CLI and Terraform. This session leverages many cloud-native (enabling) services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The session will introduce concepts, then spend most of the time on live demonstrations. All sources are shared with the audience, to allow participants to create the same application in their own cloud tenancy.
