This document discusses the growth of e-retailing in India and analyzes some of the key drivers and challenges. It finds that increasing internet penetration, rising incomes, availability of secure payment options, and attractive deals/discounts have boosted the growth of e-retailing in India. However, challenges remain around logistics infrastructure and building customer trust in online transactions. The e-retail market in India is expected to grow substantially over the coming years but improving logistics and addressing security/trust concerns will be important for maximizing that potential.
