AET provides dynamic positioning (DP) services to oil and gas customers operating in deep waters where pipelines cannot be used. They have invested in DP2 capable vessels, equipment, training and personnel to deliver a comprehensive DP solution. Currently they have secured long-term contracts providing DP services in the Brazilian basin, North Sea, and Barents Sea. The vessels servicing the Brazilian basin and North Sea are DP2 shuttle tankers purpose-built for their respective regions.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
Dynamic positioning
With the search for energy reaching deeper waters, our
customers are increasingly requiring specialist dynamic
positioning (DP) expertise. Often it is not possible to lay
pipelines in these new oil fields and our customers are
seeking to charter DP-capable offtake tankers to service
their wellheads.
Our DP solution
To ensure we are able to deliver a value-added and
comprehensive service, we have invested in DP2 capable
vessels, equipment, training and people. To date, we have
secured long-term contracts to provide dynamic positioning
services to customers in the Brazilian basin, and the North
and Barents sea.
Brazilian basin
• Two DP2 shuttle tanker vessels on station
• Contracted to a national oil company on long-term basis
• Fully trained DP2 shuttle tanker crews
• Local shore support provided from a dedicated office
North and Barents sea
• Two high-spec vessels constructed in Korea and
delivered in 2015
o Winterisation in accordance with DNV1
cold notation
o New generation BLS2
for cold climate operations
o Twin skeg engines
• Long-term contract with Statoil
• Partnered with Norwegian shipmanager OSM to
provide specialised technical management
